It's freezing, and I am not even wearing a coat, or some kind of hoodie. Instead, I'm wearing a leather jacket, a thin tee, and a pair of leather boots. In case you haven't noticed, I'm a leather-y person. Don't get me wrong, though. I support animal rights.
When I reach school, people are already buzzing about, preparing themselves for the day's classes, and I thank goodness for the heaters in school.
"Please tell me you weren't freezing all the way here." I don't even need to turn around to know that it's Oliver, my best mate since day one of high school.
"Yeah, I freezed my ass off," I laugh, then sober up. "Honestly, I didn't even know it'll be so cold out."
"Another excuse for your fashion senses," he says, air quoting 'fashion senses'. The bell rings, signalling that the first class is about to begin. With a groan, we both slam our lockers shut and make our way to class.

"Have you heard the rumor going on?" Oliver asks, biting into his sandwich. I raise an eyebrow, unsure of what rumor going on. Sensing my curiousity, he continues, "They say there's an old copy of Fur Elise dating back to the 1980's, and that if you open and play it magic happens."
I snort. Magic? Fur Elise? "It's just a piece, isn't it? I can play it from anywhere," I say, the disbelieve in my voice.
"Yes, piano prodigy," Oliver teases, rolling his eyes, "but the magic only works if you play from that book, on that piano in the music room."
Now that's something I haven't heard of. "Where do I get the book?" I ask, my voice suddenly dropping to a whisper.
"I don't know, though it's rumored - again - that it's in this school," he shoots me a wink. Before I can say anything, Oliver checks his watch and exclaims that we're almost late for our yearbook meeting, and pulls me out of the cafeteria.

I push the door of the music room open, the cool air hitting me. The aircond is still on, without anyone in it. I sigh and shake my head, closing the door. Do people not know anything about conserving energy?
Silently, I sit down on the piano chair and get to work. I practice all my scales and etudes. I have only an hour to spare before Ms. Morowski tells me to leave.
As I pack up my things and get ready to go back, I think about what Oliver had said earlier. Is there really a book like that, or is it just a rumor?
I walk over to the bookshelf and try to find that magical book. "Maybe if I wasn't allergic to dust..." I grumble, trying to keep myself from sneezing every 5 seconds. After almost ten minutes, I give up. Mainly because I can't breathe with all that dust and all the books are arranged to tightly together that I cannot even take one of them out.
