After the Wedding - Part 3

Karan watched her sleeping with her head on his chest. It's been so long since he had this view. Last night after he had proposed and she had accepted (touchwood), they had an emotional make out session where they were crying and laughing at the same time. They hadn't talked though and Karan didn't want to force her to say anything. It's been almost 4 years since she disappeared. He didn't have a clue of where she had gone or what she has done. Her family has refused to tell him and he didn't push them to. He went to the States to see if she had moved in with her brother there. She hadn't. He had checked with all her friends from that he knew of. They either didn't know or didn't want to tell him. 

He kept calling her, texting her and even tried to track her. But her number was deactivated and there was complete silence from her side. For the first month, he tried everything in his power to find her. But one day after sitting in her favorite restaurant for over two hours, anger creeped in. She didn't care about him. She just left instead of staying and trying to make it work. Instead of talking to him. He went back home, the home they shared together for a month and packed up all of her stuff. He thought about sending it to her parents' house but stopped himself from doing it. He didn't have to drag them in this. He put all of her stuff in a closet and locked it. And then proceeded to delete all their pics together from his phone. He went on social media and unfollowed her. He knew this would create a mess but he didn't care at that time. Fans were already going crazy not knowing where she was. Some were even accusing him of having done something to her. He muted her name on his social media handles and blocked all the media pages. 

He called Omi to ask him if there's any work lined up that he can start soon. He hadn't worked on anything since she had left and he had missed a couple of good offers that had gone to other people. Also most of the couple projects they were offered were withdrawn as soon as she had disappeared. She had taken so less with her in hand but had taken a whole lot from him at the same time. He looked at their bed that was unused since she left. He hadn't been able to sleep on it without her. His heart broke every time he looked at it. He needed a distraction badly and called Rajiv to see what he was upto. 

Rajiv gave him an address to a party that was happening and they decided to meet there. He called for his car and dressed up in a black shirt and blue jeans and spent some time on his hair after a long while. His pap pics for the last month had been terrible. When he reached the party venue, it was not just Rajiv but Umar and Rashami also waiting there for him. Karan hesitated knowing he would get clicked and how it would look to Teja if she saw. But who knows where she is and if she's even keeping up with what's happening in the world she left behind. He put on his media face and went over to them casually giving Rashami a hug and pats to the boys. They posed for the pics before entering the party with Rashami standing in between Karan and Umar. Once there were enough pics to fill the media pages for a week, they went inside. 

Karan was a little taken aback by being in a crowd after so long but with time he loosened up and the few drinks he had helped. Soon he was dancing with god knows who and didn't even notice the camera flashes that came his way. The next day, he woke up in Rajiv's house completely wasted but fortunately alone. Rajiv came to him with a glass of water and Karan accepted it with a thanks. Rashami was also there and Umar soon joined them from wherever he slept. They asked him how he was doing and if he was okay. None of them asked about Teja and it seemed strange to him. They had dated for over an year and these people who were his friends hadn't offered any help with finding her. Forget help, they hadn't even checked up on him until he had reached out to Rajiv himself yesterday. He brushed the thoughts away not wanting to go down that road. Teja's words from a while ago resurfaced in his head, "Your friends from BiggBoss don't like me Sunny, don't force me to hang out with them". Umar was rambling about how happy he was that Karan was finally himself again and how he is finally free.
