There in front of me laid Brian, the little boy. My mind goes blank.

He moves closer to Brian, grabs his hair and pulls him close to me. Brian is unconscious or dead. I look at Gideon. I swallow and look at Brian.

"What? What are you going to do with him? Please don't hurt him." I beg him.

He smiles, I've never seen a more frightening sight in my life. Him holding that poor boy by his hair, knife in his other hand and that evil smile. If the devil looks like a person, Gideon is the very image of him.

"Well, darlin. I'm going to sacrifice little Brian here. We need the blood of an innocent and then the power of a witch, or medium as some people may call them."

"No! You can't kill him! And you don't have a witch."

"I can and I will kill him. Unless you want me to slice up little Samantha instead?"

"No! Please leave the children alone."

"They are innocent and besides little Brian here will tell everyone about you. Sealing my fate. I can't let that happen. And you my dear, you are the witch."

"What? I'm not a witch!"

"Of course you are. If you weren't, you wouldn't have been able to travel here."

I shake my head vigorously, I'm not a witch. I'm a writer who wanted a quiet, peaceful life.

"You can deny it all you want, but we're going home."

Before I had any time to react to his words or try to get away or save Brian somehow, he lifted up the boy's head and cut his throat from ear to ear. The blood squirts out and sprays over my face and upper body as well as the floor.

He takes a bowl and holds it to his throat, collecting the precious liquid seeping from Brian. I gag and want to vomit. I want to scream, but I've got no voice. I shake uncontrollably. I can't believe what just happened. I must be dreaming this, it can't be true...

He laughs. After he has collected enough blood he unceremoniously throws little Brian's body on the floor. He draws a circle around my chair and some strange symbols.

He smears blood all over his face and then smears blood on mine. I try to move around, not wanting him to touch me and get more blood on me, to no avail.

He grabs me by the throat again. "Release your mind from its binds. And release us to enter the doorway." He speaks to me, his eyes blood red and glowing.

I'm so fearful and distraught, what does he think I can do? He's crazy, he's demonic!

I start feeling lightheaded. It feels like I'm floating. I see the blood circle and symbols catch on fire. I look at Gideon, his face starting to take on another form...blackness enveloped me again.
