I walk down the stairs. Looking around as I go down. Where is he? I don't sense him, will he be where I least expect him?

The doorbell chimes, I almost have a heart attack. My nerves are shattered. I run to the door and answer it.

"Good day ma'am. My name is officer Matthew Conrad. I'm from the sheriffs department of Copperfield. I was wondering if maybe you've seen this boy?"

He showed me a photo. A photo of little Brian. My eyes grow wide.

"Ma'am are you okay?"

"Yes. Yes I am."

"The boy's name is Brian De Witt. He was last seen talking to a man near his school's playground. He has been missing since yesterday."

"I haven't seen him. Sorry."

"That's okay ma'am. Thank you for your time. If you do hear or see anything, please give me a call." He hands me a card with his name and number on it.

"I will. I hope you find him soon."

"Me too ma'am. Good day ma'am."

"Goodbye." I look at him leaving my front yard and walking to the next door neighbour. A next door neighbour I don't have. I see why Gideon said that we are not where we are supposed to be. How strange that Brian is missing here too? Does that man Gideon had taken him already?

I walk out onto the porch. Maybe I should tell that officer to look for Gideon. Then maybe Brian might have a fighting chance. But I'll look like an accomplice. I hear something next to the porch. I walk over and look next to the building, what I see makes my blood drain from my face.

Gideon is opening a gate and coming towards the house with a bag over his shoulder. He hasn't seen me yet. I tuck my head back and run to the front door. Should I go in or run next door? It's closer to the front door than the neighbour. I can maybe get a knife or something and go out the back door. In my peripheral vision I see him coming around the house.

He sees me and starts running towards the porch steps. I run through the front door and slam it shut, locking it. I need to run, get out the back door. I turn around and my body slams into someone...I look up, what I see confuses me. It can't be...
