You spent most of your free time in the library. You were usually there anyway, but this also made it easy for anyone to find you, should your services be required. With your seniority and your reputation, most of the time your presence alone was enough to deter any annoying Alphas from causing too much trouble. It wasn't uncommon for you to gather a small crowd when you were sitting or walking around.

It also wasn't uncommon to have people come into the library, look for you, then just walk away. Half come looking to cause trouble and the other half are running from it, either way you get a lot of looks. Most of the time the Betas and Omegas that actually approach you never even really talk to you anyway, but you were fine with that. It was a silent agreement. However, it was unusual to see someone continuously searching for you without approaching. That's how he came to grab your attention.

Tendou Satori.

It was the mess of bright red hair that stuck out above everyone else that clued you in to his presence. At first that was all you would notice, a small flash of red that would show up in the library before it disappeared. He would come in and leave just as fast. This went on for about a week. Then you started to see the rest of him. Between buildings you saw him with a group of friends, wearing the most self-satisfied grin you'd ever seen. Across the lunchroom you heard him singing some loud, ridiculous song. Once you took notice of him, he seemed to be everywhere. It was a wonder you hadn't taken note of him before.

It wasn't until about a month after you noticed him that you actually met each other. It had been...a particularly rough day. Midterms were approaching, which means high tensions all around. You had been a bit more occupied than normal – taking longer routes to escort others to class, getting into more staring contests with Alphas that didn't want to back down right away, and it had all built up to leave you more on edge than usual. So when an Alpha decided to come cause trouble for some lonely little Omega in the library before closing – well, you might have gone a bit overboard.

Slamming down the book you had been sorting you made straight for the trouble-maker. You had seen the flash of doubt in their eyes, you knew they would back down pretty quickly, but it had been the wrong time to cause a fuss. Once you were within reach they tried to square themselves up, you could smell whatever scent they were putting off in an effort to assert dominance, but it wasn't enough.

Grabbing their collar, you ignore them completely and put on a sickeningly sweet grin for the Omega. "I'm sorry, is this pest bothering you?"

"Um...well, a bit. I mean, I was about to leave. I don't want to cause problems but...," they kept glancing around nervously and you could see the look in their eyes looking for help. That's all you needed.

Your smile dropped looking back to the Alpha you had hold of, "It looks like we're closed. You need to leave." You begin walking toward the exit, dragging them behind you despite any resistance they offered, ignoring whatever complaints and insults they were spouting off. When you got to the door they managed to wrench free and suddenly the Omega was long forgotten. They turned on you and the initial flash of hesitation you saw had turned into fury.

"You think I'm gonna be thrown out of by some annoying, weak Beta?" they snarled. Without even waiting they were drawing back their arm, it looked like it was going to be a nasty punch. But you wouldn't be known as the Librarian Protector if you didn't know how to handle a fight. Throwing yourself forward, you cut off their punch, throwing off their balance and dragging them to the ground for a brief scuffle.

They got some good hits on you – some really good hits actually. In a quick opening you managed to grab hold of their collar and something in your glare made them stop. You let out your own domineering scent, and you could see the fight quickly leaving them as they grew uncomfortable with the tension filling the air. You really hated using your scent glands to your advantage but you had to admit – it came in handy sometimes.

"Now, you're going to leave and not bother anyone around me again. Got it?" You couldn't help the little growl that came from the back of your throat. They obviously didn't want to admit defeat but nodded slowly. You released them and they warily looked you over before quickly taking off.

Bringing yourself off the ground you sighed and winced, today really had it out for you. Turning back to the library your stomach dropped as you saw him, Tendou. Tall frame casually leaning against the doors, looking at you as if you were a new species. You fumbled, "Um, that, I....," you had no idea what to say. This was one of the rare moments where you were actually in a fight, one of the even more rare moments when you let your Alpha side slip a bit. Sure the other Alpha in the scuffle couldn't have noticed with how amped he was, and there wasn't a guarantee your spectator noticed either, but the way he was smiling-

"Tendou," he said, standing up to his full height and sticking out his hand. You gaped a bit before tentatively shaking his hand. He stood there, grinning at you, looking at you with sparkling red eyes, not saying a word....

"Oh! I'm, uh Y/N," you weakly offered. His grin grew a bit, but he said nothing else. He released your hand and silently held the door to the library open for you, gesturing you inside. You hesitantly walked through, glancing back to see him still stood outside.

You were about to question him when he cut you off, "That was some tussle. I see why everyone talks about you now." He glanced around the library before giving you a small wave, "I heard you were closed, so I'll leave you to it." He started to walk away but paused to throw his head back with, "I'll be seeing you around Y/N ~"

Just like that he was gone. You stood dumbfounded in the middle of the library. What was that? Did he notice something during the fight? What is with him? You stood there a moment longer before a tug on your sleeve brought you back to the present. The Omega you had stepped in for was standing furiously blushing at your side. "I just wanted to say thank you. They really didn't exaggerate when they called you an angel."

You blushed, you'd never heard anything like that before, "Ah, no really, it's nothing like that! I just hate seeing stuff like that, there are tons of people that step in around campus!" You tried to brush off the compliment, but the Omega shook their head, looking at you brightly before collecting their things and bouncing out of the library, giving you a wave on the way out.

Youcomposed yourself and closed up for the night. Really, what a day it turnedinto.
