Romano quickly unwrapped his hand, to see his cut gone.
"Ahhh-" You held your hands up in defence.
"-Don't freak out." He stifles slightly and holds his hand, looking flustered.
"I'm not freaking out, are you freaking out?! Oh that's very interesting hair. In the back of me, why is it possessed?" He kept rambling on about nonsense you couldn't understand. "It's... How long has it been doing that?"
"Forever, I guess. When I was a baby people tried to cut it. They wanted to take it for themselves. But, once it's cut. It turns (h/c), and looses it's power." You ran your fingers through your hair, revealing the short piece of your real hair. "A gift like that, it has to be protected. That's why I...I never left the..."
"You never left that tower. And are you going back?" Romano looked at you wonderously.
"No! It's complicated." Romano looked at you confused, but you decided to change the subject. "So, Italy Romano, huh?"
"Ah yeah, well. I'll probably sound crazy with the whole Italy Romano story, it's a little bit ah..." He looked away nervous. "It's a little bit fucked up."
"I got glowing hair." He was hiding his face, but you saw a small smile cross it.
"Alright, but if you don't believe it, it's your own damn fault. So, basically, I'm a part of Italy. The southern part to be exact. The northern part of is my brother, Veneciano." He seemed to be dreaming off about his past. "He had everything going for him...nothing to brag about, of course."
"Was he a thief too?" Romano looked down and you could feel the aura change.
"Ahh, well no. Actually, he could do whatever he wanted to do. He could go anywhere that he wanted to go. He's smart, artistic, and even rich. And...and, for a kid, with nothing." He began to trace his palm. "I don't know, I... It just seemed like a better option. You can't tell anyone, about this, okay? It could ruin my cover."
"Ahh, you wouldn't want that." Romano looked to you irritated, but his eyes showed his thanks.
"I rather be known as a thief then a pathetic nation. Um, well I should uh...
I, I should get some more firewood." He stood up, heading towards the forest."Hey. For the record, I like Italy Romano much better than, Lovino Vargas." He looked back at you and smiled slightly.
"Well, then you'd be the first. But, grazie." He walked into the forest, his figure blending into the scenery.
"Well, I thought he'd never leave." You jumped at the voice, grabbing your frying pan.
"You!" Taiwan emerges from the forest, looking a bit older.
"Hello, dear." You took a step in Romano's direction.
"How did you find me?" She laughed sarcastically.
"Oh, it was easy really. I just listened to the sound of complete and utter betrayal, and followed that." She began to walk briskly towards you.
"T-" Maybe using her country name wasn't a good idea. "Mei!"
"We're going home, (Y/n), And don't call me by my first name." She grabbed your elbow, leading the way she came.
"You...You don't understand. I've been on the most incredible journey. I've seen and learned so much. I even met someone." She rolled her eyes, only half listening.
"Yes, the wanted thief. I'm so proud." She pulled you forward again. "Come on, (Y/n)!"
"Wait! I think... I think he likes me." You only believed half of what you said. How could someone like Romano fall in love with someone so quickly?... Oh, yeah! This is a Disney Fanfic! (fourth wall//shot)
"Likes you? Please, (Y/n), that's demented." You cringed at the word she decided to use.
"But, I..."
"-This is why you never should have left. Dear this whole romance that you've invented, just proves you're too naive to be here." First she interrupts you and now she's randomly singing. "Why a kid like you? Come on now, really.
"Look at you, that face, that ancient dress. Do be a darling, come with mommy." She sang and you could just hear your sanity snap in the background. "Mother-""NO!"
"No? Oh. I see how it is. (Y/n) knows best." You noticed how dark she had gotten and how uneasy you began to feel. "(Y/n)'s so mature, now. Such a clever grown up, miss."
"(Y/n) knows best. Fine, if you're so sure now." She took out a bag and swiped something out. "Go ahead then give him, THIS!"
"How could you-?" You had caught the crown when she threw it and wondered how she knew.
"This is why he's here. Don't let him deceive you." She gave you the satchel as well, as she continued to sing. "Give it to him, watch, you'll see."
"I trust him"
"Trust me my dear, that's how fast he'll leave you. I won't say I told you so...no." Now she was being WAY overdramatic. "(Y/n) knows best. So if he's such a dream boat.
Go and put him, to the test. If he's lying, don't come crying." Seriously, how old and naïve did she think you were? "Mother, knows best."
She dashed into the woods like a shadow and you stood there holding the satchel. You decided to put the satchel into a hollow tree for safe keeping."So, can I ask you something? Is there any chance that I'm going to get super strength in my hand? Because I'm not going to lie. That would be pretty damn cool." He looked up to see your pale face. "Hey, you all right?"
"Oh, sorry, yes. Just um, lost in thought, I guess." He paused, looking you over again. He sighed and began talking again.
"I mean because here's the thing. Damn good looks, I've always had them. Born with it, but fucking strength? Imagine the possibilities, I'm just-" He kept going on, sounding about this new prospect and you couldn't help, but smile.
~
"FUUUU-!" You lifted your head, from the bed of hair you made to see a weird sight. Romano was being dragged away from the horse from yesterday. "Oh, hell no! Put me down!"
