I slammed the door shut of Janson's car, making him get out.

'Hey! Don't slam the door'. He pointed at me. I huffed.

'I'm late. Why else do you think I will be mad'? I hesitated to say.

'Oh, so you're mad at me now. Who took the time to drive you here'?! I looked over and I saw Mr Gardner waiting out front. I sighed.

Best not make a scene.

'I asked you a question'!

'You did'.

'That's right. Now walk and be thankful, you slut'. I held onto my bag strap and looked down. I passed Mr Gardner on my way inside, trying to ignore him.

'Hey, Prince. I'm right here. Stop'. I sighed and stopped.

'What'?

'You're late'.

'It-' I sighed.

'My office'. I followed him to his office and sat down. 'Who was that'?

'I don't think that's any of your business'.

'Who was that'? He repeated.

'Janson, my boyfriend'. His eyes widened for like a second before going back to their normal state.

'He shouldn't be treating you like that. Go on, off to class'. My eyes widened.

'I'm not in trouble'? He slightly smiled. I cleared my throat. 'I mean, I'm not in trouble', I said more sternly.

I went to all my classes and at break, I went to the theatre to play with the piano again. Soon, school was over and I was about to go home.

'Hello, school rebel'. I looked up. 'I'm Susan'.

'Hello then'. I continued to walk.

'I was wondering, I'm a friend of Charlie's'. I stopped. 'Do you wanna hang out? Get to know each other more. Maybe I can come over'.

'No no, that's not the best idea. I have to fix my car anyways'.

'Well, I can tow it with mine. Take it to my place and you can show me the robes in fixing one of these bad boys'. I smiled.

'It's a deal'.

So Susan drove me to my place and then I got a chain in the garage to tow my car.

'So, what is it'? She asked.

'Audi R8'. I took off the cover. 'This guy was selling it for like 500 bucks. Sure, there's a lot of work to do on him but I don't mind'.

'You said him. It's funny. Guys say her'.

We towed my car to her drive way and I changed into the usual No shirt and overalls. This was like my second pair of overalls cause Mr Gardner still had my other ones from when I threw it on the ground and just left.

'So when are you going to paint him'?

'When I'm finished fixing and cleaning the engine. I still need to fix the pedals too and then the orange paint and the seats'.

I looked further in the car while trying to remove some bolts. I held another car pull into the drive way but didn't look up.

'Hi, dad. I want you to meet someone'.

I came out and wiped my hands.

'Hell- hi'. I stopped. 'Your father is the principal'? I tilted my head.

'And you're Susan's friend'.

'I guess, I mean I'm only here so we can get to know each other. We only met today'.

'And your fixing who's car? It's not a present to me, is it'?

'It's my car'. He looked at me.

'Yours? What happened to it? You crash it'?

'I bought it like this. Sure, he needs a little work but luckily I know my way around cars'.

'Oh, dad. Can Robin stay here overnight'?

'Susan, I-'

'Her house is far off and it's getting dark quickly. You wouldn't want to be responsible for a student going missing'. He looked at me.

'Fine, but no funny business'. He walked inside the house.

'Really Susan. You shouldn't have. There's no problem in me walking home. I can call my boyfriend too'.

'You have a boyfriend. Lucky'. I smiled. 'You coming inside'?

'Well, I got to finish this first and then I'll head in'. She nodded before heading in.

I unscrewed most bolts and started to clean. There was a lot of oil and grease and I managed to get nearly every inch of me dirty.

'Is that why you were in the locker rooms'? I looked up to Mr Gardner.

'Yes sir. My father woken me up and I had to rush to school'.

'How did glass get under the hood'? I looked back and back to him. 'Is there something you're not telling me'?

'There is. You don't have a right to know everything in my life'.

'You're over protective of yourself too much'.

'I don't trust anyone but myself'.

'Not even your family'? I turned back to my car.

'My family left when I was 8'.

'What's that supposed to mean'? I looked at him, angry.

'My mother! My family left when I was 8. My mother was the only family I had! Now stop asking questions'! He looked a bit shocked but relaxed.

'You left this in my office'. He tossed over my clothes. 'Good night'. I watched as he walked back in the house.

I sat down and began working again.

I jumped up hitting my head on the car hood. Someone just honk my car horn.

'Raise up, sunshine'. I growled.

'Don't call me that'.

'Whatever, buttercup. Did you really spend all night here? Take a shower before you go, quick before you're late again'. I grabbed my clothes before running to the door.

'Where's the bathroom'?

'Oh, I think you'll have to use mine. It's up the stairs, straight ahead'.

'Thanks', I said gloomily. I mean, in your principal's bathroom, let alone your enemy.
