Journal entry,

Hey. It's Hussain Larson writing to you once more. It's crazy to believe I finally made it to collage! In case you've forgotten, being a hybrid didn't help me. Most colleges are humans only. . .

I guess things haven't changed since I was a kid. Me mum and dad always said the same thing about humans: looks like it's true. O, in other news I'm sad to say that Garrett won't be joining us in this college. He. . . He disappeared like the others, now it's just me and Carey, an elf. Not sure what else there is to say other than I'm ready more than ever to get school started this time around!

That's all I have to update you on for now, till next we meet.

I closed the tab on my computer and quickly grabbed my bag. I could gear the test tubes inside rattling away as I ran towards the bus. The only thing I could think of was getting them back to Carey since I had borrowed them over the summer.

I jumped into the bus and paid the fee before sitting down in the back. I double checked all my supplies for the day and made sure my tail didn't wag. I was just to excited it wagged on its own from time to time.

When the bus stopped at the front gate everyone, including myself hurried off the bus into the college grounds.

"One day, I'll make my family proud by being the first in the bloodline to succeed like a human," I thought to myself.

As I around the ground floor I heard a kind and familiar voice call out my name.

"Hussain! Is that you?" the voice cried out.

I turned around with a smile and unstoppable tail. I'd run towards the spice of the voice as they ran towards me.

We'd meet halfway and hugged each other, spinning around a few time before coming to a halt.

"Ooo, I'm so glad to see you!" Carey exclaimed. "I heard about Garrett and was worried you might be next. . ."

"You know I'm a strong wolf hybrid! However, I'm surprised you're still kicking," I chuckled.

"What's that supposed to mean? I'm not the one being hunted down!" She replied.

"True true- o, here are you test tunes by the way," I handed over the stuff I had borrowed.

"My my, you really did bring them back- I was afraid I'd have to buy a new set." She'd stash them away into her bag.

"I kept my eye on them, considering how prices aren't going so well in the alchemy supplies."

Alchemists are in high demand and although getting paid well, their materials are still costly even for them. Carey wants to be an alchemist because it has peeked her interests.

We chatted our every moment we could before and after classes. You'd be surprised how much two people could chat. It was hard not to get distracted with her soft gaze, sweet personality, and fair looks. . .

(Later)

After our classes are done we head to our assigned dorms to check them out. Apparently, we got the same one- what luck! I mean honestly, what are the odds?

"Dorm 43. . . 44. . . 45. . . 46- dorm 46 is right here!" She jumped with joy.

"Wow, you for really hyper all of a sudden-"

"How can I not be? I'm sharing a dorm with you afterall!"

I'd let her have the pleasure of opening the door and picking her bed. Surprisingly, the dorm was well kept unlike the ones I saw on our way here. Most likely due to it just now being opened.

"Look, you have a view of the main campus grounds!" She'd point out through a window.

I closed the door behind us and threw my bag onto my bed. "Yep, a nice view hu?" I replied.

I sat on the edge of my bed and unpacked my stuff. Unfolding my laptop on my lap and checking my plans.

Carey looked around enjoying the scenery. Should've known, her species normally likes things like that.

"Hey, if you ever get hungry you let me know- k?" I'd let her know.

"Okay, sounds good to me." She'd reply.

We both kinda just sat in silence as the moon grew older. While I researched some things she watched some news reports of more and more people missing. My heart beat grew weaker as I could sense the sudden sad atmosphere in the room. I'd avert my gaze from the screen and towards Carey, her eyes were glazed over by a layer of tears that made her eyes shine.

My eyes watered, I blinked and rubbed my eyes to see clearer. I closed the laptop and stood up. I sat next to her and comforted her as she leaned onto me, crying over the loss of our friends.

"Reports speculate that these sudden disappearances can be tracked to financial struggle. As hybrid wolf trafficking is still a legal act in some areas of the world. People may get abducted and sold into slavery or even as a personal science experiment." Said the news reporter.

She didn't help comfort Carey so I shut off the TV. We slipped into our sleep attire so we could head to bed.

"Would it be fine. . . If we slept in the same bed just this once? . ." She'd ask shakily.

"Erm- yeah! . . But uhm. . . Why all of a sudden? . ." I'd reply.

"I just don't. . . Don't wanna feel alone for another night. . ." She'd answer.

I'd nod and slip into the same bed as her. I kept my back facing her for it not to feel weird. . . Things only felt weirder.

"Well. . . Night Carey. . ." I said before turning off the lights.

"Good night Hussain. . ." She'd yawn before drifting off to sleep. Me following closely behind.

The last thing I remember is a sudden arm wrapping around me. It's warm, soft, and smooth. It's a female's touch, and there's only one girl here with me. I tried holding the hand but was to tired to. Instead, we were left with 9ur fingers intertwined together only.

Editor's Note: I decided to take my own spine to this series without Skye. Why? Because the two of us are far to busy to do anything together. So instead I'll be working on this project solo just for fun! If quality of content changes you can blame me. I am usually the one who writes, not thinks. Skye definitely was a big help in the last chapter.
