Only a Heartbeat Away

Chapter 9

Two and a half hours later everything seemed to be calm. Zayn and Louis eventually joined Liam and Niall in the living room. 'Big Bang Theory' was still playing quietly and everything except for the bus was motionless. Louis eyes still held that stormy ocean colour about them and he had yet to say anything which that within itself was scary as he is usually the loudest member of One Direction, the other three boys just let him be, the only people that could get him out of this state are either on the tour bus in front of theirs or back in England and judging by the time difference Jo (his mum) would be in the middle of trying to get Louis' sisters ready for school. Liam couldn't help but think just another couple of hours. Just another couple of... then his phone rang.

"Liam. I just have a question to ask?" letting out a relieved breath once Liam worked out it was just Josh on the other side of the call.

"Yeah, Josh what is it?"

"Where can you watch 'The Notebook' online?" Liam barked out a laugh startling the others.

"Is Harry asking for the film?"

"Yes, he is and is sulking loudly because he can't access his portable DVD player or Laptop and mate, I honestly don't know a damn thing about chick flicks, and I swear if he calls me an uncultured swine again, I might have to..."

"You will not lay a hand on me Harry" Louis' turbulent voice rings out. Liam who placed the call on speaker after hearing the request shot a warning look at Louis who sagged into the chair.

"Seriously... You know what." Josh went silent, though you could still hear murmuring in the background that was until a congested voice spoke.

"Louis be nice and just tell this swine where I can watch my movie if not then I will watch 'Titanic'" the sounds of disappointed moans can be heard in the background. "I am sick, and you will love me. You bunch of uncultured swine's" Harry complained, and Josh groaned, "See Louis! Save me." By this stage Liam, Niall and Zayn were laughing at the conversation. Only Harry can be this adorable while sick.

"Liam." Harry said dragging out the 'M' in Liam "Please save me from these... people." again Niall, Liam and Zayn laughed while Louis eyes sparkled a little bit, his face twitching.

"Well, I can save you both. Josh 'The Notebook' is on Netflix and Harry you can now stop calling them swine's." again everybody but Louis laughed.

"Hey guys can you please let me speak to L alone?" immediately Niall, Liam and Zayn evacuated the room going towards their bunks, while on the other side of the phone Ryan, Josh and Jack did the same. Leaving just the spouses in the living rooms. Louis moved closer to the phone but did not take it off speaker assuming Harry's or in this case Josh's phone is also on speaker due to Harry's unwell state.

"I haven't heard you laugh at all my love. So, either you're brooding quite epically, or I am not being as funny as I think I am, which means I'll have to break out my bag of knock, knock jokes" Louis who hasn't said a word yet shook his head. "Still nothing? Alright than babe you asked for it. Knock, knock." Louis again shook his head. "Come on honey. Knock, knock." Louis knowing Harry wouldn't give over eventually said

"Who's there?"

"Finally."

"Finally, who?"

"Finally, you opened the door, its bloody cold outside." Louis rolled his eyes, the storm behind them letting up a little.

"That was terrible love."

"Great how about another?" and for the next 30 minutes that's all Harry did was tell jokes to his other half until Louis had laughter tears running done his face.
