Chapter 7

Dancing with your ghost

Couple years has passed Diego and Ashley were spending time with their daughter Lucy.

Lucy spoke as she was playing with a ball, "Daddy can you tell me stories about grandparents"

Diego spoke smiling, "Sure. When my mom was alone in the woods. My dad found her crying. So my dad decided to talk to her softly. My mom was amazed how my dad was gentle. So they began to spend time together. As time passed they fell in love and had me."

Lucy spoke in curiosity, "How you met mommy?"

Diego was shook by his daughter question. He started to remember the day he met his ex mate. The way he didn't notice what was going on. Diego remembered that his ex mate cheating on him.

Diego remembered that he left not to deal with it. That he was crying nonstop of his heart shattered. That one day he met Ashley that they became mates on the first day they met.

Diego responded, "My story is not pretty. I used to have a mate before I met your mom. My ex cheated on me so I left. After days passed I met your mom then we became mates and had you. Your mom and I never had a argument."

Ashley spoke, "Is true Lucy. I never been mad at your daddy. Your daddy really care about me he would do the same with you. Always remember that."

Lucy spoke, "Daddy will be with us forever no matter what."

Diego spoke, "How about we got take a walk together."

Ashley spoke, "Sure why not it has been a while."

As soon Ashley steps out the cave, Diego's heart drops like he was feeling guilt.

Diego took his daughter by her scruff. After a few minutes they were playing around on the large hill. Diego laughed when having fun.

Ashley tackled Diego to the ground and began to kiss him while giggling. Diego was happy to have a wonderful family.

His daughter began to play with the snow jumping around leaving footprints on the snow.

As they were playing, they felt the ground shaking. Lucy went near to Diego for protection.

Then the shaking stopped after couple of seconds. Then the parents began to look around and noticed a snow avalanche was coming straight to them. Diego took Lucy and began running while his mate behind him.

Ashley hasn't looked back and saw the avalanche was getting closer to them. Asher saw a large rock in front them. Ashley decided to push them to the rock so they can be safe from danger.

Diego was knocked to the rock. The split second he saw Ashley was caught up by the avalanche. Diego couldn't believe that his mate sacrifice herself for them.

Diego covered Lucy from the snow. Not get killed by the weight of the snow. After the avalanche Diego dig out of the snow and took Lucy out.

Diego started yelling for his mate, "Where are you?! Please be alive!"

Lucy saw the desperation of her father and began to cry. Diego began to dig everywhere in search of his beloved.

After several minutes of searching Diego was about to lose hope. He dig the last snow pile. Diego saw his mate barely alive.

Diego was overjoyed to see her again.

Diego spoke, "Hey you here! Are you okay?!"

Lucy to her daddy and saw her mother. Lucy was glad to see her mother. Diego took out Ashley of the snow.

Ashley was coughing out blood. Ashley looked at her family.

Diego spoke, "You are going to make it."

Ashley coughed and placed her paws on her lover face and spoke, "I won't make it. Promise me..."

Ashley was coughing and Diego spoke in tears, "Don't say that. What about our daughter? You will make it."

Ashley spoke weakly, "Lucy... come..."

Lucy quickly approached her mother crying to her chest.

Lucy spoke crying, "Mommy... no! Don't go!"

Ashley looked her daughter with her weak smile and spoke, "You are my precious little daughter... remember that."

Diego spoke crying, "Ashley please don't die. The time we spent together was short."

Ashley spoke in tears, "Diego... I will always be... in your heart. I... love you."

Diego pulled Ashley for their last kiss as their goodbye. Ashley kissed Diego passionately.

Ashley pulled out and looked at Diego with tears with a smile. Ashley slowly closed her eyes as Diego was holding her.

Ashley took the final breath feeling of her family with her. Ashley died happily that she lived the life she wanted. A happy relationship and a wonderful family.

Diego saw Ashley dead body. Diego roared in tears that his love of his is gone. He wished that he took her place.

Now the family is now alone without their mother.
