LORCAN LESTRANGE WASN'T A BAD MAN. At least, that's what he told himself over and over again. With the world slowly changing and a war on the way, everyone did what they had to do to survive. The youngest Lestrange held his wand so tight his knuckles turned white. The words repeated itself in his head before he murmured a simple word under his breath. A spell that he wished he knew when he was just a boy hiding from the world in his bedroom closet. A spell he wished he knew when the world became too much and he was drowning in his thoughts.

"Obliviate."

REMUS JOHN LUPIN HOWLED AT THE MOON that night. The wolf usually hidden came out to show himself to the night sky once a month when the moon was full and shining brightly. He always thought it was some sort of sick joke, having him transform into moony when the moon would shine on it's brightest. As if even the night wanted to show him the monster that was inside of him and wouldn't let him forget.

Even though he usually didn't remember much of the full moon there were always small pieces, flashes of memories that came back the morning after. The wild eyes of the werewolf staring back at him in the water and the frightened looks on the animals around him. It just wasn't fair, but Remus had accepted that life wasn't fair when he was way too young.

He had been five years old when the monster under his bed wasn't as terrifying as he once thought. The monster broke into his bedroom through the window and since then he had begged his parents to sleep in the basement. Any room in the house that wouldn't let the monsters in. The front door had already let the biggest monster in, after all.
