Chirps
I heard birds chirp outside, and the sun's rays gleam on my cheek but there was no way I was getting up yet.
Creak
Hearing the footsteps of my boyfriend, Ezra, approach me was familiar but even he wasn't going to get me up today.
"Anthony..."
Ezra whispered into my ear, his warm breath hitting my earlobe as I groaned and turned away from him pulling the bed covers over my head.
"Don't be like that-"
"You gaslighted me last night, so I'm staying here away from you. Who even let you in?"
I snapped at him, though muffled from the sheets bouncing around my sound waves.
"Your Mom."
"She always has a soft spot for you. Ugh-"
"Anthony I was a jerk last night. I fucked up."
That gave him some space to speak, as I pulled the cover down just over my face.
"I shouldn't have treated you like an object. I apologize."
"It wasn't because you treated me like an object, it's because you treated me like a second priority. I'm aware the people you are around are high profile and you have to treat them as such, but don't act like I don't exist."
I replied as Ezra nodded with his pug-like face, it was hard to stay mad at him with those eyes of his. Taking a life of its own with one pupil blue and the other green. I only noticed now that he was just in his white undershirt and gray sweatpants which made me go.
"Where are your clothes?"
"Last night after you stormed off I stayed in the rain a bit too long, so there in your washing machine."
"So you come over to apologize not only for the gaslight but for using up my detergent."
I said with a raised eyebrow as a cheeky smile grew on his face, I scoffed but smacked my lips resisting the urge to smile myself.
"Anthony, I can still date you right?"
"Yes, just don't pull that shit again."
Pointing at his chest, Ezra nodded heavily as my Mom knocked then opened the door right after. Hate when she does that since we could have been doing anything.
"Anthony, get your lazy butt up. It's noon already."
"Okay, Mom."
My mother closed the door back at least, as I climbed out of bed adjusting my pink booty shorts and green tank top. I caught the lustful gaze Ezra gave me, but he kept his hands to himself for the moment as I moved over to my dresser.
"How did you sleep?"
"Not well since I was mad at you, but it's not like I have anything to do today anyway."
Letting out a semi yawn, I scrolled through my Instagram seeing random alien stories which disinterested me very much and I quickly closed my phone. Pulling out the first dresser drawer, I placed some underwear and a bra on the top next to my sketchbook I haven't opened in about two years, college has taken most of my attention. I have no class today thankfully, but I still have some homework I'd rather do sooner than later-
"What are you thinking about?"
I gasped feeling Ezra hug me from the back, I could feel his bulge on my spine.
"The homework I have to do today, which is a lot by the way-"
"You've been working all week, why don't you take a break today."
Ezra cut me off while nestling his head in the crook of my neck.
"I thought about it but it'll be more stressful to do it later if I relax today."
Ezra sighed kissing then nibbling my neck, as I slipped out of his grip briefly to turn around so we were face to face. I shouldn't have done that because now he was giving me those 'give in' eyes which are hard to resist when he's this close.
"Come on Anthony-"
"No, I'm super stressed already and I don't..."
Trailing off, I couldn't deny the hunger rising in my chest and just gave in.
"Fuck it."
I muttered pulling Ezra into a kiss of my own, our lips collided over and over before he picked me up onto his chest. He moved to the bathroom then closed the door so we could shower together. We did more than a shower, but it made cleaning up easier. Afterward, I ended up napping again until my Mom said she ordered some food. Moving out onto the living room with some leggings and a red tank top, I noticed the alien's propaganda had made it to the major news, Fox News type. But I was keeping count of how many times I saw it, depending on the pattern it could become a problem very quickly.
"I ordered Chinese, and for goodness sakes, I hope you two use protection."
I choked on the cranberry juice I was drinking, as Ezra replied for me.
"We do."
Even though this particular time we didn't so I just went back to chewing on my fried rice like I didn't just make a scene. We ate at the kitchen table together, Ezra talked about the company firm he works at. It's primarily from Japanese stakeholders, so his job is a mix between consultant and entrepreneur. He's only just got his foot in the door and as much as possible can I try to support him, while also showing he's romantically taken. I'm currently a sophomore at my university, but the semester is about to be over going into summer, hence why work increases but I'm doing my best.
"How are your grades, honey?"
"Good Mom, coming along."
"But it's also stressing you out."
Ezra said with concern in his voice as I shrugged, stabbing my fork in some leftover egg foo young on my plate. Suddenly my mother turned the tv up to the POTUS giving an official announcement.
"Ladies and gentlemen of America, I'm sure you've heard the news about aliens and I'm here to inform you to disavow those rumors. Everything is under control-"
I dropped the fork which caused a sound that caused me and my mother to jump. We shared a frantic look, but here's softened for my sake as she excused herself from the table.
"I'm going to call your father."
My father being an EMT put a lump in my throat but I tried my best to stay calm. But usually, when the POTUS or government tells you not to worry, that's when you worry.
"Anthony, exhale."
My eyes widened finally doing so as Ezra rubbed my shoulders and said.
"I'm sure everything is alright okay? And if not I'll be here to support you."
"Ezra you have your family to-"
Ezra put a hand over my mouth before I could finish, it was only now I could realize my hands were shaking. They only started to still a bit once Ezra pulled me into a gentle but tight hug.
"I'm not going anywhere."
