Mirabel was gone, there was no other way to put it. The floor began to crack and the candle flickered, threatening to go out.

Mirabel sat on her Tia's bed and listened to the band working on a new song to put on their new album. "I'm telling you, sing about how shitty your mom is!" Mirabel heard Johnny say. "Yeah, maybe something like, she's in love with the miracle, she likes the light." Pietra said before laughing. "If Mama somehow heard this in the Encanto, she would have a heart attack!" Mirabel walked in and sat down next to Pietra. "I think that would be a good song Tia. Can I ask you about your escape? If you don't wanna talk about it, it's fine, I'm just curious." Mirabel said.

1973
Pietra Madrigal, only nine years old wandered through the busy streets of Brooklyn, New York. After she left the Encanto, she snuck onto a ship that was going to New York. She barely understood English so what was she really expecting when three large men surrounded her and prepared to beat her. "Hey! Get away from her dumbasses!" a voice called out. "Fuck off stupid middle schoolers, it barely speaks!" one man yelled before on of the boys hit the man with a baseball bat. The two other men ran off and Pietra slowly looked up and saw the three boys. "C'mon, get on up, I'll take you to my mom, she'll bandage you up." the boy with the most curly hair said helping her up. "I'm Josh, that's Kenny with the bat, and that's Johnny screaming threats at the men. You from Brooklyn?" He asked as Pietra shook her head quickly.

1989
Pietra met up with Josh, Kenny, and Johnny shortly after her shift as a waitress ended, she sat down next to them in the bar and looked at the band playing. "That could be us, if you really think about it. How cool would that be?" Pietra asked drinking a bit of her wine. "We should do that then, form a band, tour around the world!" Johnny said as he drank some of the beer he had ordered.

"So, you formed the band while drinking?" Mirabel asked as the band began laughing at the memories. "At first, I thought it was just the wine and beer talking, but, I wouldn't trade the band for the world." Pietra said.

"Mama! Dolores is losing her gift and Antonio can't speak to the animals as well as he used to!" Pepa said hugging Antonio close to her. Ever since Mirabel disappeared, all of the Madrigals had been losing their gifts gradually. "Maybe, it would be better to not have gifts Pepa." A voice said, everyone turned around and saw Bruno, who was wearing a odd shirt and held a grim glare towards Alma. "First Pietra and now Mirabel, you should really be disappointed Mama." Bruno said as the family stared at him in shock.

Mirabel looked at the airport as Pietra, Josh, Johnny, and Kenny unload the bus. "Mira! Come on, the plane is waiting! Going back to New York!" Mirabel grabbed her bag and walked over to Pietra and the band and went to the plane with them.
