You lived in a world with 2 kinds of people.
People that were Nekos.
And people that were Masters.
The Master people were rarer than the Neko people, so whenever a Neko interacted with a Master, they instantly fell submissive. It was a bit different with you because you grew up with a Master.
Killua met you when you were both 6 -- his mother wanted him to find a potential partner for the future. However, Killua chose you out of the other "applicants" by the hand and dragged you away.
You later found out he wanted to be friends with you, and you agreed. From then on, you were always together. But something happened.
When you both turned 18, Killua started to see you differently. He was confused and scared, so he stopped coming to school. With your Neko instinct and relationship with Killua, you immediately went to his side.
Well, you tried.
He didn't want to see you, he pushed you away so you couldn't see him. Not being near him made you feel sick, not only was he your best friend, but your Neko instinct was eating away at you.
Your strongest desires weren't being fulfilled like they usually were, to serve him. Even though you felt like shit, you pushed on to continue school to graduate; which you did. After school, you and Killua were going to travel the world together, but... that's changed.
You had been beating yourself up for so long, always thinking you had done something to him that made him angry.
Now you were 20 years old and lived alone with your little dog named Goldy.
Not a day passed by without you thinking of him. Then it hit you. Not only did you miss him, but you also loved him. You cried yourself to sleep that night, knowing he'd never want to be with you.
Nowadays, Masters were falling for Masters and Nekos were falling for Nekos. Maybe Killua had found another Master and fell for her...
The thoughts kept flooding your mind, tears ran down your face for the fourth time today. You hated that you were a Neko. Why couldn't you be born as a Master?
"Killua..." You clutched at your chest, squeezing your eyes shut. Goldy looked at you with worried eyes, and curled up on your lap as if to say "it's okay." You sniffed and laughed to yourself.
"Thanks, Goldy. But crying isn't doing me good anymore." The golden retriever lifted her head and whimpered at you, her eyebrows raising and falling back down. You chuckled weakly and pet her head.
You had gotten used to the feeling of your ears tilted downwards and having sore eyes from crying. Nothing was new to you, nothing at all.
