(Touya)

I woke up early, squinting in the morning light. I could hear Fuyumi cooking down the hall, humming quietly as she did so. I rolled out of bed, brushing my red hair out of my eyes. School started back up today, and I was oddly determined to make it on time. I pulled on my uniform, leaving my room. Shoto had only just woken up as well, still trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes. I greeted Fuyumi and grabbed some poptarts.

"You don't want breakfast?"

"Nah, not today. I'll see you later." I pulled on my shoes and stood, tapping them a couple of times before leaving. I pulled open the poptarts as I walked, only opting to eat one. I stopped at a light, standing next to someone else who attends the same school as me. His blue hair was pretty fluffy, looking hard to manage. He had terrible bags under his red eyes, and was on the scrawnier side. Trying to be friendly, I decided to say hello.

"Yo, I'm Todoroki Touya, looks like we go to the same school." He barely made an effort to glance over at me.

"Shimura." That was hardly a reply.

"N-nice to meet you. Ah, if you want..." I held out the uneaten poptart to him. He actually turned his head this time. He took a hand out of his pocket, taking the poptart and mumbling a thank you. We stood in silence, waiting for the light to change. I felt a rush of relief when it eventually did. We ended up walking all the way to school together, even if it was terribly awkward. Somewhere along the way he had finished the poptart and tossed the wrapper. We walked into the courtyard together, but I quickly lost him in the crowd. I shrugged it off, not really thinking about him.

There were plenty of stands set up in the courtyard, clubs already trying to snag new members. I managed to get through, getting to the front office. I got my schedule, heading in the direction of the classroom after I swapped out my shoes. I entered the room, taking a look around. The only other kid in here was the boy I had met on my way over, Shimura. Since I kinda knew him I decided to try my luck and took the seat in front of him. He hardly looked up from the book he was reading. I decided not to bother him. I had learned from my sister not to try to talk to anyone while they're reading. The bell rang and the other students filed in, filling in the empty seats. I turned around to face the front as the teacher walked in. After the second bell he started making an effort to calm down the class. He began taking role, then began class. I mostly didn't pay attention because most of it was just first day things, like ice breakers and such. I would actually start paying attention during actual classes. I tried taking note of the other students to see if there might be anyone approachable enough to try and be friends with. There wasn't really anyone that caught my eye, so I would probably try to find someone during lunch. There was, of course, the grumpy beauty behind me, who was still reading the book he had brought, and hadn't really tried during his introduction, simply saying his name just as he had done to me. I could give it a shot.
