It was another dreadful Monday morning, and you were on your way to Liyue University, one of the most prestigious universities in all of Teyvat. Like most days, you were gazing at the sunrise. Because of the way that the docs are set up in the harbor you get a great view every morning on your way to school.

If you were to be honest, the walks to school were actually quite nice! The ocean breeze really wakes you up and because it's still quite early most people are still asleep which gives it a nice quiet atmosphere to relax and settle your nerves before your classes start.

(growl~...)
*Sigh*

Of course, you had woken up late and didn't even have time to eat before you headed off to school.

"Guess I'll just buy something at a cafe during lunch..."

- Time skip -
[ 5 minutes later ]

'Finallyyy, my legs were going to fall off if I had to walk any further'

You headed to your locker then went straight to class, and to your surprise, you were one of the first ones to arrive.

'Is everyone late today, geez..' you thought to yourself.

You put your stuff down and took a seat. Since you had some time to kill you decided to study for an upcoming test this week.

[ 8 minutes later ]

And with only a couple of minutes left, most people had arrived and already taken their seats, when suddenly the door flung open in a hurry.

-BANG!-

Which followed by your teacher, Madam Ping running in and asking if anyone could tour a new student around the school since it was a last-minute transfer from Sumeru University and none of the teachers were free to do it.

You quickly raise your hand.

And say, "Miss, may I?"

Madam Ping thanks you for your kindness and allows you to skip today's classes to tour the new student.

Although you did want to tour the new student and get to know them, the main reason you didn't hesitate to accept her request was simply to get out of doing today's work.

You begin to make your way to the main entrance of the building as madam Ping had instructed. You had many questions as to who this new transfer student was.

Why did they transfer?
What's their name?
What do they look like?
Are they a boy or a girl?

'Ugh my head hurts from thinking so har-'

-OOF!...-

"Ouch..."

"..."

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going..." You said.

You look up to see the person who you bumped into.

You don't recognize him, although you can't say that you've met everyone in your school buttt... He seemed to be lost and looked like he was waiting for someone or something on top of the fact that you've never seen him around.

He offers you a hand which you gladly accept, now standing next to him you can take a better look at his face.

'Oh wow... He's definitely handsome...' You blush a bit.

"..."

"You're staring..." He said.

"Oh-, uh sorry about that, ehe.. It's just that I've never seen you around here...." You said awkwardly.

"That's because I'm a transfer student.." He said in a more or less monotone voice.

That's when it clicked.

"Oh my, so you're the new student I'm supposed to tour! It's a pleasure to meet you.. uh...-"

"Xiao" He said.

"-Xiao, I'm Y/N! I hope we can be good friends!" You said with a genuine smile.

Xiao smiles slightly at your previous comment and shakes his head yes in agreement to become friends..
