Sam's thoughts were muddy and unclear. What had happened? Where was Chara? She heard the faint sound of someone walking what seemed to be closer to her. Or was it farther away? Then, she felt someone removing her shirt. Sam responded to this move on her body without permission, by subconsciously giving whoever this was, a weak middle finger.
"I think she felt that... She wants her shirt back doesn't she... I know, its been hours...Hey doc, i need help over here-....
Sam woke up suddenly, aching everywhere and in every place. She tried to lift her head, only causing immense pain. She groaned, and put her head back down, onto what seemed to be a pillow. She blinked, noticing the sudden brightness of everything around her. "Ughhh...." Someone groaned next to her. She looked to her right. It was Sans. He was passed out too. She looked down at herself, and noticed her clothes had been taken off, she could feel a draft under the hospital covering that had been put overtop her. She immediately magicked her clothes back on her body, annoyed at whoever did this without her permission. Then she realized something.
Chara wasn't next to her.
Where was she?!?!?
Sam got up in a panic, ignoring the doctors screaming at her to stop and go back to her room. She didn't know if Chara was okay, but she knew that she couldn't lose her. She scanned the building, sensing no sign of her soul. He body ached, but she would not rest until she found out where Chara had gone. She looked everywhere she could, but still could not locate her love. Then she finally found a bruised and limping Chara, walking next to Asgore and Toriel. She immediately teleported over to her, and gave her a tight hug of relief. "Thank the gods your okay! I was so worried, I couldn't find you anywhere!" Chara staggered back from the impact and speed of the hug, but soon hugged Sam back. Sam looked at Chara's bruises, and her right leg, which was the one she was limping on. "I'll heal those for you." Her hand glowed green, as the injuries healed themselves. Toriel looked at her disapprovingly. "THIS is who she chose to date-" Chara gave her a murderous look, while Sam simply smiled. "Yes, this is who she chose to date, and if you have a problem with that, deal with it. Cause we're not breaking up anytime soon!"
Her eyes glowed purple. "And if you try to take her away from me by force, then I'll be sure to get rid of you, PERMANENTLY." She threatened, as the glow faded. Toriel stood there, looking petrified, as Asgore tried to make her wake up. Sam led Chara away from Asgore and Toriel, ducking into Grillby's. They both looked at each other with barely straight faces, and laughed with each other hysterically. "You gave her one of those looks you like to give annoying people, didn't you?" Sam shrugged, calming down. "Mayyyyyyyyyyyybe. Also, did you really just call your Mom annoying?" Chara grinned, before elbowing Sam in the arm playfully. They walked over to the counter, and sat down on the bar stools. "Oh hey, your the king's daughters Girlfriend, right?" Grillby said as he walked over to the two of them, gesturing towards Sam. "Yep!" Sam said happily. "I gotta be honest, I can see why she picked you." He slid them both a menu. "What do you girls want?"
"A bottle of wine, please." Sam spoke for both of them. Grillby eyed her despite not having eyes. "One for both of you?" Sam nodded, as Grillby walked into the back to fetch the two bottles of wine. Grillby arrived with their wine bottles a few minutes later. He slid them across the table, and went to take somebody else's order. Then, Sam remembered Frisk's dying soul, that she still had with her...
Hopefully it hadn't faded completely yet....
She put her hand up to her chest, and tried to feel for Frisk's soul. A faint beating, that was not her own, was felt. She took a deep breath of relief, before taking a light sip from her wine bottle. Chara eyed her bottle suspiciously, then slid it across the table to Sam. "So, how have you been doing after what just happened?" Sam asked as she put the bottle back down on the table. "I've been doing okay, I guess... My whole body still feels sore even though you healed me." Chara shrugged. "What about you?"
"Meh, all my joints feel sore because of just how much i was trying to hold myself back from hurting you." She rubbed her arm. "It's probably gonna be sore for a few days, a week at most. Also, are you sure your okay? After what you did, i'm not totally sure that you don't have at least a few side effects."
"I told you, i'm okay. You don't need to worry about me so much, babe." Chara insisted, while Sam put the other bottle into a bag, and slid 13$ across the table. "If you insist." She replied, walking out of the bar as Chara followed. They went back to where Toriel and Asgore were still at, Asgore still trying to unfreeze Toriel.
Chara suppressed a snicker, while Sam was grinning ear to ear. "Need a little bit of help there?" Asgore shook his head. "I'll be fine, trust me. It'll take a few minutes but i've got this." He assured them, which neither of them believed but nodded and walked away. Once they were out of earshot, Chara laughed loud and hard while Sam frowned. "There's no way i was THAT scary." Once Chara finally calmed down, she shook her head. "I wouldn't say that, your pretty scary, Sam." Sam shrugged, disagreeing. "By the way, where's Sans? Is he still in the hospital?" Sam nodded, as night was quickly approaching, darkness enveloping everything. "Damn... We should go there just to check up on him, that's probably where everyone else is anyway..." Chara suggested. "Sure." She said, gesturing for Chara to take her hand. Everything around them suddenly went bright white. "Oh shit!" Sam exclaimed, holding her hands up to her eyes. "Well that's never happened before." Chara groaned in pain. "It must be a side effect of what happened last week. After all, i dont think your magic has completely recovered yet." Sam nodded. Colour seeped into their vision, and soon a room around them became visible, which Sam quickly identified as San's room. "Whatever the case, at least we got here at all." She said, getting to her feet as several other people came through the door.
Papyrus came through first, followed by Gaster and Undyne. "Oh, human Sam and Chara! We were just coming in to check up on my lazy brother..." His voice suddenly became quieter. He scratched his chin. "Although, i don't think i can really call him lazy after what he did back there for you guys." Gaster gave Sam a look, which Sam couldn't figure out this time. Usually she was very good at reading facial expressions to determine what emotion was present, but Gaster hid his true emotions very well, despite his slight outburst in the void. "Speaking of which, what exactly DID happen back there?" Gaster asked, his voice sounding normal to Sam, but to everyone else it sounded like gibberish. "Well, for one thing, how did you know i could speak wingdings?" Gaster smiled with a slight creepiness. "I have my ways. Now answer me, please."
Sam explained what had happened to Gaster, while Papyrus and Undyne watched Sans toss and turn in his sleep. Chara merely watched and listened in confusion, trying to understand what Sam and Gaster were saying.
"Ah, so that's what those genocide runs were caused by, a combination of Chara's Hate and the LOVE virus, Good thing your partner in crime put that virus to sleep forever." He winked, earning no reaction from Sam but a small grin. "Yep, that's my baby. She's amazing." Sam sighed, before having an idea. "Hey would you care to take care of this for me?" She retrieved the fading soul from her chest, and put it into Gaster's hands. "Why did you save him? Regardless of being controlled by hate like Chara was, and the LOVE virus, he still made my sons and Chara suffer for two years worth of genocides. So why?" Sam shrugged. "He deserves another chance, despite him also having done things to me in the past, it still isn't fair to judge him on two stupid things he did years ago. As much as i want to just let him die... I've done that way too much... i want to try and see if this time, he can be redeemed." Her eyes watered up slightly, she wiped her eyes. "So, can you keep it in something until my magic recovers?" Gaster nodded, and teleported away for a moment before returning. "Done, its sealed in a containment chamber."
"Thanks Gaster."
What she had just said was such a lie. She did want to bring Frisk back to see if he was really a lost cause yet, but she also just wanted to torture him even more... She was torn, she wanted to give him a second chance, but she didn't know if she could believe that he could change at all.
Guess she would have to see when the time came...
