*Tuesday, after school*
The school day flew by, and it didn't matter what had happened earlier. What mattered now was what was going to happen at home with my mom and Karl.
---
Corpse and I arrived at the front door of my house. I was about to unlock it, but my mom opened it before I could.
Mom: "Hey! Come on in, guys!" she greeted us warmly.
We entered and made our way to the living room, where Karl and Nick were already hanging out. It felt like a family meeting, though without my dad and sibling, and now including boyfriends. I wasn’t sure if Corpse was officially my boyfriend yet, but the soulmate thing seemed to suggest he might be.
K: "Hey, guys," Karl said calmly.
C: "Hi."
Y/N: "Hello."
Mom: "Okay, so Karl told me everything. Just so you all know," she said proudly.
C: "Cool, I guess," he mumbled the last part, but I heard it.
Y/N: "Yeah, cool. Sorry I didn’t tell you sooner," I said nervously.
Mom: "No problem. I know now, and I'm okay with it. I’m actually proud that you’ve made a real connection."
Y/N: "Mom, I have real friends."
Mom: "Yes, but they're either for school or online. I just want you to explore the world, you know?" she smiled.
K: "Yeah, Y/N has the wrong soulmate for exploring the world," he joked.
Nick and I laughed.
C: "What do you mean? I came here..." he said.
N: "Yeah, and that’s about it."
C: "Shut up, Nick," he joked.
Y/N: "Okay, I get it. We’re not the ‘exploring the world’ types, but that’s fine."
Mom: "Of course. But make sure you go out at least twice a month and don’t stay in bed all the time."
Y/N: "Yes, Mom. Not 24/7. We can manage."
K: "Also, don’t be horny all the time. I know you guys."
C: "Yeah, I can’t promise that..."
Y/N: "Me neither."
N: "Yeah, we can see that," he said, pointing out the love bites on our necks.
Y/N: "Shut it, Nick!"
Mom: "Y/N, I mentioned it first. I noticed earlier."
Y/N: "I thought you didn’t notice," I said nervously.
Mom: "Of course I did. I’m a mom."
Y/N: "True. Anyway, we’re heading to my room now to do homework. Bad Karl!" I joked.
K: "I didn’t even—" he started, but trailed off.
We exchanged our goodbyes, and Corpse and I went to my room. I set my school bag next to my bed and sat down. I pulled out my homework and began to organize what I needed to work on. Corpse sat beside me and pulled me closer.
"Do you need help with your homework?" he asked, leaning his head on my shoulder.
"I’m not sure yet, but I’ll ask if I need any," I said, focusing on my work.
*Timeskip*
*You’ve finished English and are now working on math homework.*
"I don’t get this stuff. What even is this?" Corpse asked, hugging my waist from behind.
"You mean 'pi'?" I asked.
"No, I mean this," he said, pointing to 'π' on the paper.
"This is 'pi'," I laughed.
"Yeah, well... what’s it for?" he asked.
"It’s a symbol for an endless number, like 3.141592654... and even more. Instead of writing out the number, you use the symbol 'pi'," I explained.
"Why do you know this?" he asked, surprised.
"Because I’m still in school."
"Good point," he conceded, giving up on understanding math.
