Just another day (one direction fanfic)

Chapter 23

The trial was moved forward to the next day because of Mitchell's confession. I didn't have to attend but we all did because we wanted to see justice.

He got given life. The thing that hurt the most was the fact that he didn't look sorry, not in the slightest.

"you ok Paige?" Katie asked me

"yeah i'm fine, what about you, Kyle was your cousin?"

"i'm fine i'm just glad he got what he deserved this isn't just about Kyle though, he tried to kill you too" she said and then linked her arm in mine. I shuddered at the memory but that's all it was; a memory.

We all went for a meal to celebrate the fact that Mitchell couldn't hurt anyone anymore.

"what can i get you?" the waiter asked

"i'll have a lasagne please" i spoke and then everyone ordered there food, Niall as usual ordered the most.

"you ordered like most of the menu" i raised my eyebrow at him

"i won't eat it all i just like to try a bit of everything" he shrugged his shoulder

"yeah right mate" Harry said and we all gave a little laugh.

When we finished our meal, which took about two hours thanks to Niall deciding that actually he did want to try and eat everything he had ordered because they were all really tasty and he couldn't chose which one was his favourite, we payed the bill and headed outside.

"want to go for a walk?" Niall asked me taking my hand.

"sure" i smiled up at him

"we'll meet you all back at the flat later guys" Niall said to everyone, they all nodded and said bye walking off in the opposite direction.

We walked down some roads and eventually reached a small path

"where are you taking me?" i asked him

"a gentleman never tells" he laughed and tapped his nose.

"you know that saying goes for what happens in the bedroom right?" i said with a laugh and we both cracked up

"yeah i don't tell about that either" he said.

We walked slowly just taking in the scenery around us. It was a small country lane with hedges and fields. We reached the end of the small track and there was a brick wall but no gate.

"now what smartarse?" i looked at Niall who was looking deep in thought then he knelt down infront of me.

"what are you doing?" i laughed

"get on my shoulders silly" he said, so i did.

He managed to lift me so i was sat on the wall before he climbed up and joined me, we swung our legs around so we were dangling above a beautiful field full of tall pink flowers swaying gently in the wind. The sun was setting in the background causing the sky to be a deep red and purple colour.

"it's beautiful up here" i smiled and leant my head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arm around my waist

"it is, but we aren't staying up here"

and with that said he jumped down, it wasn't a long way down but it was still far enough for me to have second thoughts about jumping, might break an ankle or something, i have weak bones.

"come on" he held his hands towards me from the ground

"no way, i'll just stay up here" i said and he stuck his bottom lip out
