Chapter 6

The kids and I are washing up for dinner when I hear my phone go off. I dry my hands off and pick the phone up. I see a text message and I open up to see it was from Eunwoo. 

Heejin is in town and hopes to set a play date for our kids. Nanami said yes to my proposal so now I have a fiancée

That's great and I'm also happy for you

I smile to myself and Jaehyun's voice interrupted scaring me a little. I didn't want him to get angry at me for texting Eunwoo so I lied. "Oh, I recently got my old high school friend Heejin's number, and she wants to set up a play date with the kids". Jaehyun nodded his head and left. I followed him out and went to the dinner table.

Jaehyun places Koeun in the highchair and gives him a little bit of food so he can eat. The maid places the food on the table, and it smelled so delicious. Today's dinner was quiet, not even one of the kids said anything besides Koeun random talking. "Mommy, why were you and Daddy arguing in the car?" Mi-Kyong said.

"Your Mommy and I were talking about someone who could be dangerous and hurt our family" Jaehyun says, and I kick his leg under the table. "Daddy and I were arguing because we didn't agree with something, that's all" I said, and she nodded and went back to eating. After dinner, I wanted to talk to Jaehyun about what happened today, but he didn't want to hear any more about it. Since it is the weekend tomorrow, I decided to text Eunwoo and set up that play date for the kids so I could talk to Heejin. 

The next day

I woke up and made the kids breakfast including Jaehyun's. I told him about the play date I set up with my friend and he nodded agreeing. I was surprised he didn't ask question about it. Jaehyun left for work, and I cleaned up breakfast before looking at the time. "Okay, Mi-Kyong were are going to go meet with Mommy's friend from when I went to school but don't worry there will be another kid you could play with" I said, and she got excited rushing upstairs. "I'm going to put on my best clothes" she yells going up the stairs. I laugh at her and lifted Koeun out the highchair. "Okay little man, let's get you dressed up" I said and headed up the stairs into the nursey. 

I changed Koeun's diaper and got him dressed ready to go. Mi-Kyong walks into the room, "Mommy, what do you think?". I turn around to look at her outfit, "You look pretty, now let's brush your hair. I set Koeun down on the ground and he crawls over to his toys playing with them. "Can I have my hair in two pig tails?" she asked, "Yes you may". I grabbed the brush and started styling her hair. Once I finished, she headed out the room and I picked up Koeun and walked down the stairs. I grabbed the keys and we headed out the front door to the car. I buckled both the kids in and close their doors. I went to the driver side getting in and starting the ignition before driving off. 

We decided to meet at the place called Bounce Kingdom which allows the kids to jump and have fun while the parents watch. We arrived and I place Koeun in the stroller and grab Mi-Kyong's hand looking both ways then crossing the street before going inside. "Mommy, look at that!" Mi-Kyong yells in excitement. "I see" I said and paid for us to get in. The lady placed a wristband on Mi-Kyong's wrist before we walk through. I see Eunwoo wave over at me and I head towards him. "Hey, I see that you brought Haru with you" I said setting my things down. I look in the stroller to see Haru looking at me with his brown eyes. 

"Hey, you're the man we saw yesterday" Mi-Kyong says walking towards Eunwoo. "Yes, I'm one of your Mommy's friends" he says smiling at her. "Ooh, Daddy's not going to like this" she says turning to face me. "Well, if I buy you candy, will you not tell your Daddy?" I asked and she nodded. "Mommy is this the kid I have to play with because he is a baby like my brother" she said and comes over to me. "No there is someone else coming" I said, and she nodded. "That someone else is me" we hear a voice. I stand up and turn around to Heejin and a boy next to her which I assume is her son. "OMG! I haven't seen you in like forever" I said and hugged her while she hugged me back. 

"Oh, this is my son Yeon Jun, and he is 8" she says, and her son bows to me saying hello. I smile, I couldn't help thinking he looks like Jaehyun but it's probably the baby face or something. "Hi, you're quite a handsome young man" I said, and he gets shy and thanks me. "This is my daughter Mi-Kyong and my son Koeun" I said. "Hello, it's nice to meet you" Mi-Kyong says bowing showing her respect. "Mi-Kyong, Yeon Jun is older than you" I said, and she nodded. "Hello" she says bowing to him a little. "You can call me oppa" Yeon Jun says and Mi-Kyong smiles. "Oppa, let's go play" she says and takes Yeon Jun's hand and runs to the bounce obstacles. "Be careful" I said and watch them two run off to play. 

"Wow, it's been this long, and we already have kids and some of us are married" Heejin says and sits down. I nodded and handed Koeun his toy that he's been playing with. "So, how've you been lately?" I asked. Heejin smile before saying, "It's not easy being a single mom but I love my son and I have been doing great". I smile and nodded listening to her. We heard a cell phone ring and looked to see it was Eunwoo's phone. We watched him answering it and then hanging up, "Listen ladies I have to go and meet my fiancée" he says grabbing his and Haru's things before leaving. We waved him goodbye, 10 minutes have passed. Heejin and I have gotten caught up with the things in our lives. 

"Nila" someone says, and I snap my head in the direction the voice came from. "Jaehyun" I said and stood up giving him a kiss. "Heejin, this is my husband Jaehyun" I said, and she stands up turning around. Heejin smiles looking at him and you could see her face get pale before it goes back to normal which is odd.
