Ahh, I can't believe i still remember this part of my life and probably still will. Well we were probably in a day in spring? Ill say spring. We were both about seven. At this time Emery was a very skilled artist for the age of seven. I wasn't jealous of her art but i would always compare my art to her's. One day it had gone to far. I remember we were drawing ourselves hers came out very beautiful and mine in my opinion at that age was "horrible". I told her that she was to good and i was horrible and i ran down to my basement crying. She quickly took steps down the steps to the basement. She found me crying on our convertible chair crying while hugging my knees and digging my head into my knees. She came up to me and said
"Your not bad at art, everyone improves" . I don't remember what i said but i probably said that i would never be as good as her. She told me to follow her and we had gone back to my room. She grabbed a piece of paper and said.
"Everyone starts art like this" she then drew a smiley face on the left edge of the paper. She then drew a smiley face except with a nose as a dot. Then another face with a smile circles eyes with other circles inside them, an L shaped nose and ears. Then she made a little more detailed face with strands of hair. She then made a beautifully detailed face. Now i look back at my self and say.
"Wow i was stupid! Ok maybe not in those words but lets just say i didn't understand the concept of "improvement in art" I have always remembered about that moment and i wonder at what stage I'm at right now. But i know that it doesn't matter what stage I'm at my art will still. Be beautiful in all its ways. I have always wanted to say thank you to her but have never had the chance to. So this is the way I'm thanking her. Of making an art book of my progress. Thank you for reading! Now on to the art (actually this time)
