Owo I'll try to add a little bit of fluff~

He knew that movie was mistake
He knew he should have thrown Kakashi out of his small place he considered home the moment they almost shared another, yet SOBER, kiss.
'Was that really almost a kiss' he couldn't help but ask himself
'no... No don't get ahead of yourself Naruto... It wasn't anything... Just eye contact... And Very Close faces, so not an almost kiss'

But either way he knew he shouldn't have sat on that couch and watched the projection movie with his sensei

Because during his boredom of the movie he ended up falling asleep on one of the most comfortable pillows he had at the moment.... Namely Kakashis shoulder... And what he regretted was he had the best sleep he's had in a long time... What he regretted more was how he wanted to sleep on Kakashi again, if only for a few seconds.

So now here they were on a mission and he is seated in a cart next to his sensei in order to help a courier deliver a special golden vase to the Lord of Rice ball town (don't ask, I couldn't remember any of the neighboring towns on the way to the leaf village)

And the whole time his droopy eyes and heavy body were attracted to Kakashis body like a magnet without the force to resist the pull.

And so he simply looked at his sensei and Kakashi noticed a stare so he turned his head to look at the person staring.

And as the cart gently moved back and forth making the four ninja move with Naruto looked his sensei dead in the eye with the most blank face he could muster

And fell right into his lap without a thought, and started to snore away.

"NARUTO!!" Sakura screamed in a mix of worry and surprise at the position he landed in.

Kakashi held his hands up with wide eyes not knowing what to do as he looked at the sleeping fox who's head was in his lap.

His face was a crimson red as he looked at him and he looked awkwardly to his students to search for some explanation

Sasuke looked at him with an " and I thought I knew you" face and Sakura just watched Naruto with shock

"The idiot didn't get enough sleep last night, figures" Sakura growled out and Sasuke just looked between Kakashi and Naruto

Kakashi eventually relaxed rather than stayed tense and slowly let his arms fall to his sides, draping one over Naruto and letting the other set on the spot next to him

" It would seem that way" Kakashi said to Sakura's statement
"Probably up all night training" Sakura sighed
But Kakashi had long since zoned out while looking at the blonde boy

He looked at his hair and noticed how unusually soft it looked, so he slowly reached a hand up to stroke a pice with one finger like a delicate new born kitten

His eye widened and Sakura and Sasuke both seemed to notice the child like sparkle on his face

Kakashi did it again but this time with all his fingers being extra gentle like a test run, when he noticed that the boy hand no response he started to comb one hand through the soft fur like hair.

He then caught sight of one of Narutos natural cheek "birth marks" that where clearly fox whiskers.

He had his thoughts on it and slowly reached a finger down to trace it. This time he got a reaction and it was Naruto scrunching up his face like a cat getting it's nose poked.

"Interesting" Kakashi mumbled as he continued to experiment.

He first tried petting the whisker and that made Naruto shift so he stopped, but then he went on to scratch through his hair like he would a dog and Sasuke watched in amusement knowing that Kakashi was comparing the nine tales to a dog while Sakura sighed thinking it was rude

But all the sudden Naruto started to coo in his sleep, almost like a bird but it definitely sounded human.

Kakashi smirked when he saw this and continued to scratch and pet Narutos hair.

When Kakashi finally decided to let the boy sleep he heard the most embarrassing thing of that day

"Why'd you stop" Naruto groggily said and Kakashis face turned bright red when one blue eye cracked open to peak up at him

"Y-you were awake?" Kakashi asked wondering how he didn't notice

"That doesn't answer my question, why'd you stop?, It felt nice" Naruto grumbled with a pout.

"Uh... I thought I'd let you sleep?" Kakashi said it more as a question than anything

Naruto yawned and lifted himself from Kakashis lap slowly before deciding he hadn't slept enough and just oppted for Kakashis shoulder like during the movie.

"Wake me up if we're attacked" Naruto said and Kakashi just nodded not sure what to do.

After a good few minutes they all heard Narutos soft snores and Sasuke saw this as the perfect time to speak up

"So, you and the idiot, I wouldn't have thought" Sasuke casually said with his  normal resting face

"No, you have it wrong, we aren't together if that's what your implying, we're simply... Closer" kakashi said chosing his word wisely
"I didn't think you and Naruto could get any closer than before" Sakura said in surprise "Sasuke has a point though, he's even stopped flirting with me, I think it started the day after that mission you had a hangover on" Sakura said and Sasuke nodded once
"I also saw you two getting wood, you where closer than just a sensei and a student would normally be" Sasuke said and Kakashi blushed

"Well, you see, apparently something happened while I was drunk, something only Naruto knows because he took me home, but I don't know what it is, I've been trying to figure out and I guess we grew closer because I've spent a lot of time around him to figure it out" Kakashi defended himself

"Sure, and zipping up his jacket while standing behind him isn't at all suggestive" Sasuke said sarcastically

"That's enough of this conversation... We aren't a couple" Kakashi said and his only thought he could think of was 'yet'
