I won't be able to upload on Sunday because I'm a double at work but I will try to edit the second chapter and maybe get it up late that night. Thanks for giving this story a second chance.

Chapter 1

Everett

Let me introduce myself. My name is Everett Michael Mason. I'm 18 years old and senior in high school. I'm the alpha of the Blood river back in my short ruling of 2 years I have managed to become known as the most ruthless alpha in the south. Werewolf's shift when they turn 17 which is also supposed to be the day I found my mate, but luckily for me I haven't. I don't want one. I have one focus and that's to find the man who killed my dad on my birthday.
"Everett!" I heard my name being called across the football field. I had just arrived to catch the end of football practice. I had overslept because of alpha duties. All of a sudden I felt arms being wrapped around my neck and a pair of lips land on mine. It was Lila. My girlfriend. She is only my girlfriend because I am the quarterback and she is head cheerleader. It only makes sense. Well it makes sense to everyone else but to me she was just a good lay I had better things to worry about.
As I watch the last of the guys leave and go into the locker room I look at Lila.
"What do you want, Lila, I'm not in the mood?" I asked her. She looked at me with sad eyes but I knew they were fake. I was too wrapped up in my own mind to want this little girl hanging on me.
Well she wasn't little she just hadn't changed yet. And I knew as soon as she did and found her mate she'd be gone and I'd be on to the next. It's how it goes.
"I just wanted to say I missed you, Everett. I didn't see you all weekend and I was lonely." And with that she got up and walked off. I didn't care though I saw the guys coming out of the locker room and got up to meet them.

"Hey, Everett." Says Jake. Jake Scott Mason is my beta and my best friend. I've known him since his family moved here from up north. He's only a inch shorter than me and not as strong since he is the beta. When my father was killed two years ago so was his and he took over his fathers position just as I had taken over mine. After the attack his mother and little sister moved back up north, but last I heard they were coming back.
"Hey Jake. How are you?" I asked him as he reached me.
"Good. Football practice wore me out. How did those alpha duties go this morning?" He asked swinging his back over his shoulder as we walked to his car to get his backpack and put away his practice clothes.
"It was a dead end as usual. We can't track him past Tennessee and it's getting old. I'm not gonna give up, but I might take a break and actually try to focus on school." And with that statement we both laughed. "Jake isn't your little sister and mom supposed to be moving  back soon?"
"Yeah. They moved back over the weekend. Lazara is all grown up. She'll be 17 in a couple weeks. I can't wait to see who her mate is. She actually starts back school today, but she's gonna be late." He said and we started walking off to home room.
Home room was boring I only had two people in there I actually considered friends. One of them being Jake. And even Lila was in there but she didn't talk to me for once. Thank the moon goddess. Home room was shared with all grades unfortunately so it was always a mix. During home room we were given our new schedules for the year and a few papers about upcoming events. As Jake and I discussed what classes we have together I got the whiff of the most amazing scent.

"Sorry I'm late I got lost" I head the most angelic voice say. That's when I looked up and saw her.
