A Day At Work and An Attractive Guest

Eren's POV

I said my goodbyes to Mikasa as I headed to the café for work.

I stepped out of my apartment to be greeted with the bitter cold. I wrapped my blue scarf around my neck and made my way to work.

Mr. Lombardi was waiting in the back as I walked in, tapping his fingers impatiently. Connie must be late again. I put my things away and put on my fancy little apron.

The jingle bells on the main door were audible throughout the café. Must be Levi.

I peaked around the corner looking for the short raven, but he was no where in sight.

"Hey shit head." Jean said as my eyes landed on him. "What do you want, Horse face."

"A cappuccino actually," he smirked. "That'd be nice considering the cold is so damn harsh."

I quickly got his cappuccino and shooed him off. I kept thinking about Levi and if he was alright or not. Last night kept running through my mind. Did I screw up? Or was what I did a good thing?

Hours passed as everyone but the person I was hoping to see came in the café. It was about 5 p.m. now and work ended at 6.

As fewer and fewer customers kept coming in to get their hot drinks, I began to grow sad. The bells rang from the front as I looked up.

The raven walked to a booth and sat down, pulling out a laptop. I got his black coffee and his muffin.

His eyes lit up as I walked over, muffin and coffee in hand. "Hey Eren." He said smiling.

"Hey. How're you today?" I decided to try and start up a conversation instead of sit in silence. "I'm good, and yourself?"

"Very exhausted. So many customers today. So little sleep last night." He pushed his coffee towards me. "Take it. You probably need it."

I shook my head, "Oh... Thank you but I can't have coffee... It makes me, uhm, depressed. Hyper but depressed."

His face dropped. "Well then, I'm sorry. "

We talked for a bit, turns out he was at work and that's why he wasn't here this morning. I can understand that. He headed out about 15 minutes before it was time for me to go home. So I said my farewell and got back to work.

Mr. Lombardi glared at me from the back. "Kid, if you ever want to clock out early just ask. 30 minutes early isn't as big as 3 hours."

"Thank you," I smiled. "But I don't want to be an inconvenience to the café, sir."

"Ah nonsense. As long as you do your share of work you're never an inconvenience. You can go on home. Have a good night Eren. Get some sleep too."

I thanked him, finished with my last customer, and gathered my things. I waved goodbye as I struggled to put my blue scarf on.

Getting home wasn't too much of a hassle, Mikasa was already home so the door was unlocked. She sat on the couch watching some love story on HBO. I didn't say a word and just went to my bedroom, locking the door.

I tried not to think about things as they played repeatedly through my head. My head was pounding, heart was racing, and I was starting to feel dizzy.

I decided to lay down for the night and call it quits on today.

I KNOW SHORT CHAPTER BUT I PROMISE THE NEXT ONE WILL BE LONGER. At the moment it's 11:25 p.m. and I have to wake up at 7 in the morning. So I love you all and I hope you like this.
