Hey Lovely readers,
how are you all?
so sorry i was inactive for so long. this winter hit me hard. i was going through a mild phase of depression. I knew what was going on with me, but i couldn't control it. I wanted to stay alone and wanted to be away from everything. it was beyond my control. This time even medication worked so slow.
now I'm fine. And I'll try to update regularly.
Thank you for being so patient with me.
Love you all!
CHAPTER 8
"Aviraj, I wish you were here, and I could murder you." Chris groaned in frustration.
The fashion show was about to begin and Aviraj called him to curse at him.
"Well... the feeling is mutual. How did you let this happen?"
"What did I do?" Chris feigned innocence. He knew what Aviraj was talking about.
"I asked you why Sarah is modeling in this fashion show?"
"She agreed willingly."
"I told you to give her a job as a fashion designer. Why is she modeling?"
"Listen, I was helpless. I couldn't say anything, and Ashlyn persuaded her. I did nothing."
"This is a nightmare, Chris. With this fashion show she'll be on the front pages of tabloids, and this is not funny. She needs to lay low."
"Why?"
"Can't tell you."
"Fine. I'll make sure no one finds out about her identity."
With a sigh, Chris cut the call. Although he wanted to sugar coat his words a little to get into his potential brother-in-law's good books, he didn't have time. Putting a good impression on Sarah's family had to wait. This fashion show was more important.
His phone rang again, and Chris groaned. Taking his phone out of his pocket, he glanced at the called ID. He frowned.
"Are you calling me to beg me to give you your job back, kiddo?"
"No. I'd never do that. Ashlyn was calling you but your phone was busy. You need to come here ASAP."
"What happened?" he asked, alarmed.
"Utter chaos and Ash can go into panic mode anytime soon."
Chris cursed under his breath and ran towards the green rooms.
Crystal was waiting outside the room, a worried expression marred her face. At that moment Chris knew something had terribly gone wrong.
"What's the matter?" he asked. Crystal dragged him inside the room and shut it.
"I think Stella's done something to the dress."
"What? Kiddo, it is a serious accusation."
"I know but I can't shake this negative feeling off." They both walked towards Ashlyn and Sarah. Ashlyn was busy inspecting the pale blue off shoulder dress. Her movement were frantic and Chris could see first hint of panic in her expressions. Miraculously the room was empty except them.
"What actually happened?" he asked Crystal. She looked here and there and then sighed.
"I saw Stella walking out of this room, and I didn't like the satisfied look on her face. I think she has done something to this dress."
