A sky full of stars and he was staring at her

"Momma, if love were slots then how many would you fill for me?" Six-year-old me asked my mom, staring at her with my wide eyes.

My mom looked at me and chuckled lightly, her onyx eyes staring at my small figure. I had always loved my mom's eyes, the  colour always amazed me, I don't know why, but it did. She leaned down to my height and asked me, "Tell me Emory, how many stars do you think are there in the sky?"

I blinked at her, confused. "I don't know mom, they are countless."

"Then that's how many slots I will fill for you, honey. Countless." She smiled and said softly.

That was enough for little me. I grinned and hugged her tightly. "I love you momma."

"I love you too honey."
*~*
I smiled. That was my favourite memory of my mother....and the last.
My smile slowly faded. I never saw my mom smile after that. But then again, she did die the next day, so...yeah.

"Em?"
I blinked and shook my head, looking at Summer, my best friend, who was holding a cup of coffee out for me. She frowned, her grey-ish blue eyes looking at me with concern.

"Are you okay, Em?" She asked me, handing me my cup and sitting down next to me.

"I am fine." I smiled at her.

She looked at me for a second and then nodded, looking down, "Okay, then." She looked at me again, "You know you can tell me anything, right? If anything is bothering you, you can tell me, I am always there for you." She reassured me.

I looked at her.
She was wearing a navy blue pencil skirt that reached to just above her knees, paired with a white loose-fitted blouse with white block heels. The outfit was showing off her perfect hour-glass figure and she was looking gorgeous, as always. Her blonde hair were up in a tight bun. She was looking so professional, unlike me.

I was sitting on my bed cross-legged with my laptop on my lap and a packet of chips in my hands. I was wearing my favourite pale pink pj's with cute little flammingos on them. God, they were so comfortable. My dark hair were down and were looking like a bird's nest because I didn't bother to comb them properly. What can I say, I am lazy as fuck. All in all, I was looking pretty hazardous.

But then again, I wasn't the one who was going for an interview today, Summer was.

I plan on just staying in my bed all day, eating snacks and binge-watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S because I don't have any work today. My boss's wife had a baby and he wanted to stay with them for a while. So since he wasn't working today, I was off the hook as well. Yay me. Btw, I work as an interior designer. I love to design.

But the thing that I love the most in this world is poetry. More specifically "Atticus'" poetry. I love that guy. Pity he remains anonymous. I've been reading his poetry for a while now. Maybe a year, and to say that I'm in love with this guy would be an understatement. I have his posters all over my room and I've bought, read and reread all of his books. I swear if I ever meet him, I'm not leaving him alone again. Like seriously, the feelings that he conveys in his poetries, the depth that his words has...there is no better poet in my opinion.

"I am perfectly fine Sum and I know that whenever I need anything, you are always gonna be there for me. But right now, what you need is to go to that damn interview and get yourself a job."

Summer had applied for a job as an assistant at a big company a few weeks back and now they were finally taking her in for an interview. Apparently, it was a big deal.

She finished her coffee and got up, "Okay then, I am off to the interview. Wish me luck." She breathed out.

"Good luck Sum. Don't worry too much. I have a strong feeling this thing is going to go very well."

"You have a strong feeling about everything Em" She pointed out.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. Just don't worry too much, okay? Now shoo, off you go. Good luck." I very graciously shoo-ed her away.

"Okay then. Bye"

I don't know why, but just then, I got a sudden urge to slap her butt.  So I did just that.

I slapped her butt. Hard.

"Owww, what was that for?" Summer grimaced, rubbing her ass.

I grinned, "No reason, just felt like it."

"Ugh, whatever. I am going." She said. "Byeee byeee" I sing-songed

She walked out and I leaned back in my bed, still grinning like a Cheshire Cat.

A/N: Oh...My....God. I just wrote and published my first ever chapter. I am so happy rn. So tell me, how was it? Anything I should add or remove? Any improvements I need? I know this one was short but I just didn't know what to add. I promise it will get better after some chapters.
Anyways, I am hungry now so I am just gonna eat something and head to bed 'cause it's like really late and I have an exam tomorrow.
Also, you can call me weirdo.
Byeeee and have a good day, or night, whatever.🙂
