Laughter engulfed the table of teenagers; they cheered as Cheong-san's mother brought out two big platters of chicken. The woman smiled, her grin ear to ear as she sat down the plates."It looks great. Thank you." On-jo hummed, grabbing chicken from both platters.
Gyeung-su followed suit, "Thanks a lot!"
Seo-yun couldn't help but smile. The weight of the past few weeks flushing from her body as she watched her friends grab at the chicken. "Thank you so much, Ma'am." She hummed, watching as Gyeung-su filled her plate as well.
"Mom, why'd you bring out so much?"
Cheong-san's mom laughed, "Remember, On-jo eats a lot and Seo-yun loves my chicken."
"Always have, Ma'am!" Seo-yun hummed.
On-jo's face grew pink, her lips forming a small pout. "I don't eat a lot. I just eat well." She retorted, digging at the chicken on her plate with two forks.
"Oh, yeah, sure. That's what I like to hear." Cheong-san's mom gave the girl a smile, her gaze directed over to Gyeong-su. "Eat up, Gyeong-su."
Said boy nodded his head, mumbling out a small yup before stuffing his face once again. Seo-yun shook her head with a smile, stuffing a piece of chicken into her mouth as well.
"You too, A-sak."
The other teens giggled at Cheong-san's mother. The way she miss pronounced the other girl's name amused them in a way.
I-sak giggled as well. "It's I-sak, not A-sak." She corrected, her smile unwavering.
Cheong-san's mother looked confused. "You changed your name?"
Cheong-san sighed, his mother normally embarrassed him on purpose but this seemed to take it to another level. "Mom, if you wanna change names. You should start with the restaurant. Why are you using my name?"
"I named it Cheongsan chicken way before you were born."
Seo-yun couldn't resist the urge to tease the boy, "You were named after a restaurant…"
Said boy nudged her side, a heavy glare hanging over her. "Exactly. You named me after the restaurant. I don't like—"
Gyeong-su butted in, "Hey! Ahh…Quiet. Okay. I really like it…sounds like tradition." He gave Cheong-san's mom a huge grin. Gyeong-su was always the greatest at butting into a conversation to cool it down and he seemed to always do it to Cheong-san the most.
"Yeah?" Cheong-san's mom giggled.
"Of course."
Both I-sak and On-jo agreed along with Gyeong-su, smiles plastered on their lips while they ate. Cheong-san's mom laughed.
"Okay look, so this is a new recipe we just came up with. So this one is just a little spicy," She hummed pointing to the first platter, "and this one's really hot." She motioned to the next plate. She pulled back her hands, placing them against her apron. "What do you think? You, you can be completely honest with me." She stammered.
Gyeong-su was the first to answer. "It's super crazy mad good."
Seo-yun chuckled. "It's delicious, Ma'am."
"Really?!"
Gyeong-su squirmed in his seat, a nervous movement of anticipation. "Oh, Ma'am, look. If you ever need a delivery boy, I'll do it for cheap." He finished his sentence with a finishing smile.
