"Jade" I feel my arm get lightly poked.
"Jade you whore-WAKE UP" The angelic voice of my wonderful roommate is what wakes me from my slumber. I lightly growl at Alice as I roll onto my stomach. I bury my face into the pillow and take in the delightful smell. My pillow smells of vanilla shampoo and my boyfriends cologne. Its not the best combination but I'm not complaining.
"Jaaade" Alice grumbles as she shakes my small body yet again. I reach my arm up to swat at her but she dodges my playful assault. I chuckle before sitting up in my bed with my eyes still shut.
"Is my light on?" I ask Alice, I hear her shuffle around my room before I hear the click of my light switch. I open my eyes to find my messy room lightly lit by the sunlight peeking through my blinds. It must be later than I thought.
"You know I tried to wake you up 4 hours ago when you had class but you wouldn't budge, I also had to leave and I had no time to put up with your sour mood in the morning so I left you" I roll my eyes and Alice grins.
"So you're waking me now because?" Its a Monday which means I don't have to work and if I've already missed my classes today than why bother waking me?
"Oh I totally forgot-We finally have someone moving in next door" Alice tells me, the smile on my face couldn't be bigger. I've been waiting for someone to move in next to us for too long. Oh I just hope that our new neighbor is nice, I also hope she's younger-around our age so we'll be able to be friends.
"Oh Jade you have to see him, He's absolutely gorgeous!" He? Well there go all my plans of fun shit to do with our female neighbor
"He?" I squeak. My voice betrays me and I sound absolutely foolish, It doesn't matter much if our new neighbor's a guy-Yeah I won't be as close to him as I was hoping to be to our female neighbor but that's okay. After a year of living with Alice and it being super quiet we finally have someone to lighten up the dull mood. Alice said that he's gorgeous which means he's probably 20 year old or something, he's close enough to our age. I just hope he's nice, maybe he goes to the same college as us-maybe he's finished school? I'm not sure about any of this but I think it would be nice to introduce myself to him.
"Jade did you hear me?" Alice snaps her fingers a few times in front of my eyes, it scares the crap out of me but gets me out of my daze. I shake my head and she repeats herself while giving me a disgusted look.
"You should comb your hair and then come out and meet him, I said a simple 'hello' to him but he didn't even acknowledge my presence. I have a feeling that he doesn't speak English" Alice rambles, I smile and push at her arm-shutting her up. She glares at me briefly before getting off my bed and leaving me alone with my morning breath and knotted hair.
"You also might want to put on some makeup, make yourself look nice. No offence but you look like Shrek this morning" Alice chuckles at my expression before leaving for the final time. I yell 'Fuck you' to her which she laughs at.
I stand from my bed and head to the bathroom connected to my room. I make a sour face at my reflection, my hair is in a knotted mess on top of my head. The elastic that use to be holding my blonde locks together is no longer in my hair. My face looks a tad bit greasy but other than that I'm fine, my teeth are still very white- my hair still has its perfect clean shine to it and my skin is free of pimples.
I quickly wash my face with cold water, brush out my birds nest and brush my teeth. I don't bother putting on any makeup, I look fine without it and it's not as if I'm going out later on.
I skip from the bathroom, into my room and from there into the hallways and then I finally walk into the living room. Alice is sat on the couch with her phone in her hand and her fingers are tapping away dangerously fast. She must've heard me come in because her fingers stop moving and her head snaps up.
"I'm going out to meet our new neighbor- You know the gorgeous one" I smirk at her and watch a small blush creep its way onto her cheeks.
"Hush- You shouldn't even be calling him gorgeous you have a boyfriend, you do remember Sam, right?" Alice laughs at her lame attempt to make a joke and I forcefully lift the covers of my lips so she won't be as sad when she realizes that wasn't a joke and that was barely funny.
"Yeah I remember Sam-I've been dating him for 2 years and I'm pretty sure that I don't have amnesia or anything" My voice trails off. I love Sam so much, he's the perfect boyfriend. We barely if ever fight with one another and he's very sweet. He treats me properly, my whole family loves him and so do I but sometimes I wonder if I want to spend my life with him. I love Sam with all my heart but I feel as if I might be wasting my time with him. No guy is better than Sam, well only Christian Grey in 50 shades but he's a fictional character.
"Remember Sam and how much you love him when you see this hottie because believe me, you're going to question your love for him. Hell I bet our neighbor has turned lesbians straight" Alice says cutting my unorganized thoughts from continuing.
I laugh lightly at Alice before leaving her alone, I take about 10 steps and I'm at our front door. I turn the lock switch, grab hold of the door handle and turn it quickly. I pull my arm back before leaving my joint apartment. I step into the hallway and immediately wish that I had brought a sweater. It's November and the weather is unforgiving. Now that I think about it, my legs are also cold. I look down at my outfit and mentally smack myself for not changing. I still have on my black yoga pants and Elmo pajama shirt. I look like a complete loser wearing an Elmo shirt but I can't go back now, I only want to say hi anyways.
I walk a few steps through the freezing cold hallway until I reach the door with the number '317' in big black letters outside of it. I smile before knocking, behind this door is more than I could've ever asked for.
