**no hate to those who like the season summer
It's ok.
Really? Ok?? You just said your name was Hazard! How is this ok??
You don't even know if she noticed! How can it be that bad?
Fine just wait for a reaction, then we can panic.
Cyan gave a little laugh and looked away. "Hazel is a cute name," Cyan said in a light tone.
She noticed! This is bad she will know me as the Hazard girl from now on! Oh common.
Yeah not much you can do at this point...
"Haha thanks... Cyan is really cool..." Hazel said. But oh my was that awkward.
"Thanks," Cyan said, she put in ear buds from her own iPod and looked away.
Good. Now Hazel was in the clear. Only 7 hours and 45 minutes left of the ride. She could do this. Right?
Playing her music once more, Hazel looked out the window and watched. She watched as city turned into suburb and how suburb turned to country and country into forest.
She looked up when the counselors stated an announcement, "We are about 75% of the way there! So because we have two more hours left of this ride let's do some team bonding!"
Oh gosh. No. Team bonding? All she came here for were some beautiful views! Not views of peoples faces...
"We are going to do speed dating, but not really dating. You will have two minutes with each partner and you have to answer these three questions: what's your name? How old are you? And, when is your favorite time of year?
"You will have one row in the bus for the two of you to talk, when we say time the person on the outside will get up and move up a row."Oh gosh (again). This is her worst form of communication, under time and social pressure.
"You will start where you are and then rotate, by the end of this activity we ask you to sit with someone who you have sat with yet."
Fuuuuuun.
"Time starts... Now!"
"Well we already know each others names" Cyan said with a small chuckle.
"Ha ha yeaaah" Hazel said-ish.
"Well I am going into 12 th grade, so that makes me 17."
"Oh, nice? I am in 10th grade, well not IN tenth grade but- I mean, I am going into 10th grade so I am not in 10th grade, ha..." Hazel rambled.
Did I just say that twice? Oh gosh...
"Cool... well my favorite season is-" Cyan started but was rudely interrupted by the counselor.
"Time! Move to your next partner"
Cyan got up, and looked at Hazel doing so, then left to the next person.
The next person that sat next to her was short, had short hair, that was a nice shade of dirty blonde.
"Hey, so my name is Bee. I'm 16, and my favorite season is summer," they said with ease.
Summer? I mean that is cool and all but a basic right?
"I uh am Hazel and I am 16 too..." her voice was shaking a little. "I like winter."
Bee nodded.
Silence. Silence.. Silence.......
"Time!"
Thank goodness that was painful.
The next person that sat next to her was slender, red haired, and had very clear skin. She had on a flowery baby blue dress with a dark blue necklace, that matched her shoes, which matched her eyes.
"Hi! I am Ava and I love love love the sum-mer!" Ava practically sang. "Oh! Also I am 15!" Ava then went on to tell Hazel why she loved summer. And to be fair she brought up good points, but still kind of a boring choice.
Some more people came and went, and though Hazel was scared at first things just got... well, boring.
"Hey," a deep voice said.
Hazel looked up and saw that it was red beanie guy. His beanie was... cool.
"So my name is Tom and I am 18. My favorite season is summer." He said, locking his eyes with hers the whole time.
Confused Hazel looked away. She hasn't made eye contact like that with someone in a long time. She felt her stomach get that weird feeling.
"What's your name, I bet it's cute," he said.
"Hazel," she said
"That is cute, I'll have to remember that," he said smoothly, and in perfect timing because...
"Time!"
And he moved on.
The rest of the people went by and Hazel was on 5% battery life. She really hoped she could have someone chill sit next to her.
In her sleepiness she started when someone spoke to her. "Hey again, mind if I join you?"
