We grab our shoes off the sand and walk towards the car. He grabs a hold of my hand and interlaces our fingers. His hands are soft and warm. We get in the car and he drives off. The night was still ours to take over, but I can tell that we aren't going anywhere else. Jax rests his hand on my thigh and looks at me and smiles.

"Are you ready for the last spot of tonight?" Jax asks me. I can tell it's going to be special by the way he asks the question. He's excited, but for what?

"I am ready, are you going to tell me what is going to happen?"

He gives me a look that says he won't. The anticipation kills me. I love surprises and all, but I hate waiting for them. As we drive, I think of what my mom's reaction to my dad coming home was. They probably are up right now talking about who knows what. I grab my phone to text my mom.

"Hope you enjoyed the surprise!"

Jax looks at my phone, "Did your mom need you to come home or something?"

"No, I just texted her asking if she liked the surprise."

"What surprise?"

"I thought I told you that my dad was coming back to surprise my mom for today."

He gives a perplexed look, thinking about our past conversations. "Oh shit, sorry I forgot about that." He moves his hand up my thigh and looks at me again, "Sorry."

I stare at his hand as it moves closer up towards my pussy. "It's fine," I say. My voice came out as a high pitch giggle. Jax smiles and keeps on driving. I look out the window to the trees completely enveloped by the darkness. I always loved nighttime, ever since I was a child. I remember the first time I fell in with the dark. I was 8 years old, my entire family went to the cities carnival. It was a couple of minutes away from our house, so we left at around 7. The car ride was pretty boring, my sister, Laurel, was on her phone and my parents were talking to each other. I watched as the trees passed as we reached the carnival.

We get out of the car and the little girl me wanted to run around but my mom holds my hand before I can runoff. I keep jumping up and down as my parents and my sister walk slowly. Why aren't they running? My mom stops by the ticket booth to pay for me and my sister. My mom gave my sister all of the tickets and told her she was in charge of me. But because my sister was meeting her friends, she dreaded having to take care of me. She grabbed my hand and my eyes fell onto the people laughing, eating popcorn, or in line for the rides. My sister spots her friends and runs towards them almost leaving me behind. They all shout and scream as they hug each other.

"You guys remember my little sister Remi right?"

They all nodded and said hi to me with excitement. I knew deep down that didn't want me there because I wasn't tall enough to ride the big kid rides. I only knew one of my sister's friends: Ryen, she was Laurel's best friend. She took care of me like I was also her sister, I always loved her. While my sister went off with her friends, Ryen took me to ride the rides I was tall enough for. The night went by super fast, I laughed with Ryen until it was time for the last ride of the night. Laurel's friends, Ryen, and I all gathered to go on the Ferris wheel.

I saw the glow of the Ferris wheel standing there outshining all the other rides; it was bigger than anything I have ever seen. The beat of the carnival music was as loud as elephants stomping. The air softly whispered to me, the smell of sweet and salty popcorn. My sister gave me a ticket so I could get on. The grainy texture of the small and compact ticket, the sharp edges caressed my finger, as I knew that all my excitement lies in the hands of it. We got on and up we went, taller than I have ever gone before. Higher than I ever thought I could go. I saw all the other rides below me and all the other people down there too. The lights of the rides shined in my face, looking at my sister and her friends, they all smiled and took pictures. But, I didn't need a phone to remember that moment. A moment that would stay for a lifetime. We got back down and my parents were waiting. My sister said goodbye to her friends and we all started walking to the exit.
