Five minutes passed and they finally decide to stop playing Q&A as Soohyeon thought that the questions are getting more and more uncomfortable.
❝By the way, from what school did you graduate?❞
In the midst of their verbal sparring, Jake abruptly offers.
❝I graduated at... Heilan High... What about you?❞
She answers and then echoes his question.
Jake furrows his brows, perplexed and says,
❝What the heck... How did I not know you back then??❞
He exclaims, still in shock.
Maybe he does know her, he just can't seem to remember.
Well, maybe that's the reason why she sounded somewhat familiar.
❝There's no way you graduated from my school too,❞
There is a tone of desperation in her voice, as though she fears he will recognise her if her statement is true.
❝I did graduate from that school.❞ He utters, All the details he can recollect from his stay at that school are being gathered in his head right now, including whether or not he ever spoke to a girl named Soohyeon.
❝Well, that school was and probably is still overflowed with students. Maybe That's the reason why we never met. There are like six separate classes for each student year.❞ She states.
Now they both are in their deep thinking...
They went to the same high school but never crossed paths; nonetheless, the world is small enough that they were able to strike up a conversation in the grimmest of circumstances. But if the world really is small, shouldn't they have crossed paths already?
❝That's crazy.❞
Jake lets out as he still couldn't remember interacting with a girl named her.
❝Yeah... Wait, I think I kind of remember you.❞
She spits out as the memories of her watching a soccer tournament fill her mind.
With that being said, Jake instantly replies,
❝Really? When did we meet?❞
He asks.
❝We didn't meet or interact. You said you joined a soccer team, right? I'm pretty sure I saw you at a soccer tournament. My mere thought of him also shows up in your Instagram photo.❞
She recalls.
❝That's unfair. You get to see and remember my presence but I can't when I think of your name. Maybe I'll remember something if I see your Instagram pictures.❞
He says while leaning on the table with a hand beneath his chin.
❝Hah. Good luck with that. I don't have a single picture of my face revealed in my posts,❞ She snorts.
❝You're so unfair, Soohyeon,❞
He tells her so directly, but with a trace of frustration since he expects some difficulty in finding her face and recognizing her identity.
❝I know right.❞
She says it playfully, and Jake can't help but chuckle at her newfound wit.
