Chapter 5

I just lay on my bed. There is really nothing to do in this boring black room. I already took a shower and changed my clothes. "I'm so bored" I whine knowing that no one will hear me. "Ugh" I groan as I just look at the ceiling. Wonder what Simon is doing? I sit up wondering what I can do now. Then there was a knock at the door. I hope it's Chasity. "Come in" I tell them with a secret smile. Of course it disappeared when I saw it was Azazel. "What do you want" I look away from him crossing my arms definately.

"I want to talk" he closes the door he is facing. He turns to face me with his glowing evil yellow eye's.

"About what" I say with hostility. He's just a demon, he doesn't scare me. I think feeling proud.

"What do you want to know" he asks sounding actually sincere. Alright what is his game?

"Why do you want me" I ask.

"I told you that you are a reincarnation of the angel I fell in love with" he says.

"Then tell me about her" I say. He keeps distance by staying by the door still.

"She was beautiful, perfect and I loved her. Her hair was pure gold and her eye's bluer than any sky. Her skin so warm and soft, I couldn't keep my hands off of her. She made me feel alive, but then her brother took her away from me. We tried again and again, but we could never meet. Then she told me that she was going to reincarnate so that we could be together. I was going to tell her not to, but it was too late. The last thing she told me to do was find her. And when I met you I knew that I did, but you aren't her" he said with sadness. I feel bad that his love did that, but that doesn't mean he can just kidnap me.

"Well I'm not her" I tell him ", I have black hair and my eye's are dark or red. I'm not soft or warm, and well I'm in love with someone else."

"I know" he said still staying in the dark so I can't see his face. "Whatever happens is your choice. Choose well" and like that he was gone.

I was now alone in my room to ponder what he meant and what I am to do. Whatever I do, it will be for Simon.

It was just starting. With every step the challenge seemed to be getting harder. The symbols were all of death from different languages.

"So how did you know these were right" Sin asked staying one step behind me.

"It is the path of death" I tell him. We are about half way through the bridge. It was a language that I really wasn't used too, so I had to take my time. It was Celtic and I didn't really study it. There it is. I found it and stepped on it, still safe.

"How do you know it was the path of death" Sin asked stepping on the step I was just on.

"Well you see, he is a demon and plus all the other symbols were all the same except the ones of death" I step onto the greek symbol for hades.

"Where did you learn all this" He asks, following me closely.

"It was three years before I had Esmeralda, I took that time to learn as much as I could" I tell him remembering, how I basically lived at the library. I study about vampires the most, being one myself it would be useful. A lot of the myths were false and I basically figured out all I could.

Three more symbols. "So what do you think the third challenge will be" Sin asks.

"No clue, but I know it will be hard" I tell him back as I take three more. I could feel how close the end was. Two more and now I can see the door, but it was still far.

"We are almost there" Sin observed. No shit captain obvious.

"Why did you do this" I asked taking another step.

"I wasn't able to change my fate, but I can save yours" he said. I took another step.

"Is it because of Chastity" I ask taking another step. The door was now about three to five steps away.

"Yes, and I won't let Azazel take her away from you, like he took Chastity" he said with such sorrow.

"He won't, I won't let him. And maybe you can get her back" I say trying to cheer him up. Three more steps left.

"You think" he asks. Two more.

"Yes, I know" I tell him. One more step and then we are safe.

"Thanks man" he said. Zero, we are safe.

"Well we have passed challenge two" I say as we stood in front of the doors.

"You ready" he asked as we look at each other.

"No, but we are still going" I say and he nods.

"Well I guess let's do it" he steps close to the door.

"Better now than ever" I agree as I step up. We both push open the doors. This is for you Esmeralda. I'm coming.
