Chapter 10

It was the next day. I got out of bed and I got ready for school. I put on my favorite hoodie which was a Michael Myers hoodie that my dad bought me because I'm a little horror fanatic. After getting dressed, I grabbed my backpack and my phone and I headed downstairs.

I grabbed something to eat on the way since mom and dad went to work. After grabbing me something to eat, I left the house while locking the door and setting the alarm. I then started walking to the university when I heard someone call my name, "KAYDEN!" I turned around and I saw Kankuro running towards me.

"Hey Kankuro, first time seeing you and not already in class." I said with a chuckle. He chuckled as well.

"Well I sorta woke up early due to my younger brother and my sister fighting, again." he said with a groan as we walked together to the university while I took a bite of my granola bar.

"Wow, what were they fighting about?" I asked him as I swallowed the last bite of my granola bar.

"Oh just stupid stuff like who does the chores and whatnot." he told me with a shrug. I nodded my head and we finally reached the university and we walked inside.

We walked to our first class which was puppetry class and we sat down at our bench and we started talking. While we were talking, I could feel people stare at both of us and I could hear them talking bad about both of us.

Why does people always have to try to ruin peoples lives and make their life harder? But then again, I'm sorta glad that they don't know who I really am, because if they did, they would be asking me for money, and that's not who I am. I mean the only one who knows that I'm the mayor's daughter is Kankuro, but he doesn't ask me for money to be friends with me, he's friends with me because he's like me and I think he likes my personality. I thought to myself.

I must've been really in my thoughts because Kankuro was snapping his fingers trying to get my attention. I snapped out of my thoughts and I looked at him. "You ok? You zoned out." he asked me with a concerned voice. I nodded my head and Professor Phillips walked in the room and we all quieted down.

"Morning everyone, I have an announcement to make. Today, I want you and your partners that you had last time to make a puppet for your test which I will be grading you on for presentation this Friday. I will be grading your puppets on design, color and presentation.

Now, the kind of puppet for your test, I want you to make medieval string puppets, the design and theme can be whatever you want it to be, but the design must be flawless and the colors must be colorful. You may look up pictures of the puppets to get an idea in your mind and this will also help you to figure out the theme and the design for your puppets. Get to work and do your best." Professor Philips told the class.

Kayden pulled out her laptop and she pulled up the web and typed in 'pictures of medieval string puppets' and she and Kankuro began going through all the pictures and writing down what the typical body looks like and the type of cloths for the clothes.

After doing that, Kayden and Kankuro began thinking of some themes that they could do. "Let's see, we could do a horror theme again, we could do a monster theme, or we could a mysterious kind of theme." Kayden thought aloud. Kankuro nodded his head, he sorta liked her first idea though.

"Let's do the horror theme." he said and she smiled.
