The comforting scent of rain filled your lungs, your head rose up to look at the sky hoping you would be able to talk to your mom and tell her how much you love and missed her. All you felt was pain and a vast emptiness in your heart and the only thing left in you were the endless tears that kept streaming down your weary face.

"Let's go honey." said your father, holding on to your hand to lift you off the bench that you both sat on after the funeral.

He knew how much you loved your mother and how deep your connection is, so despite the sorrow he felt having lost the love of his life he tried his best to be patient with you and give you as much time as you needed to mourn your moms' death.

You slowly walked towards your car, lightly sniffling against your father's chest as he held on to your weak body. Opening the door to the passenger seat he sheltered you with the umbrella as he waited for you to get in but just before your head dove in your eye caught a silhouette in the distance, a man in a long black coat. You couldn't make out much of his features except for the fact that he was tall with a head of deep brown hair. He stared in your direction, feeling helpless at the sight of heartbreak written all over your face. Death was inevitable and even someone like him had no control over it. The space between you both was far but even then there was a vague connection as you caught each other's gaze. For a moment it felt comforting, like a warm hug almost, as if he understood and felt sorry for what you were going through. However, in the blink of an eye, a large van drove into the path of your vision before it vanished from your sight along with the mystery man in the distance.

You felt the cool air against the heat of your skin and you were brought back to reality as your father slowly guided you into the front seat before driving you both back home.

Months fly by, your mom's passing slowly transitioning into a healed wound in your heart as you take your time to make peace and move on. Leaving the nest was already hard as it is but you were not going to let that fear take over all your hard work. You were determined to face this new start on your own. Ready to face the world and keep stepping forward despite its hardships. Staring at the new ID card that hung from your neck, you took a deep breath before getting out of your car to start your first day of university. Your hand reached in to grab your bag and supplies before you stood up straight to view the large parking lot around you. Seeing your little car amidst the fancy Benzes and Lexus gave you a rather bitter foresight into how your next few years would be. You felt nervous, almost like you had cold feet but rather than not wanting to be here, you felt like you weren't meant to be here. Were you going to be the pauper among the royals, the odd one out, or the new girl who didn't fit in? Questions started to fill your mind and panic started to set in. Ever since you found out about going to this university you were simply in seventh heaven, now that you were here, it was a different point of view. "No Y/n, you earned this. You can do this girl!" you muttered to yourself trying to boost morale before pushing through the large glass doors of the university of your dreams, a place you never thought you'd step foot in, but here you were, contradicting your own assumptions.

"Hi, good morning! I'm a new student for the Fine Arts course, uhm I was wondering where I can get my schedule?" your voice chimed through the holes in the glass that separated you and the cheerful-looking admin staff.

"Hello there! Yes of course. Please fill this form and I'll prepare your schedule book for you." she responded, sliding an A4-sized form towards you along with a pen.

"Sure," you answered, taking the paper off to the side to quickly fill in everything before returning it back to her in about a minute. A little while later she pushes forward a book meant for you.
