After enduring what seemed like a long horror movie, Lisa's case ultimately reached an official conclusion. Although the academy incurred some financial losses, the outcome was worthwhile. Lisa was expelled, and you were forever rid of her misery.

You weren't completely out of the woods just yet as some of Lisa's minions still harbored vengeful intentions. Nevertheless, Yang's new rules made it exceedingly difficult for any plans to come to fruition. Even though it was unusual for Taehyung to always show up around people at the academy he decided to do so around you and that in itself served as a protective barrier against anyone who sought to disturb your peace.

Hyejin, like an aggressive little chihuahua, was with you from the time you stepped into the campus grounds till you left, ready to throw hands at anyone who even breathed in your direction. You were grateful, to say the least, and you understood the reason behind her actions. If she had experienced a near-death situation, you would've been equally protective over her too, but still, you couldn't help but feel more like a burden despite Taehyung and Hyejin's reassurances to the contrary.

Nonetheless, after much persuasion, you managed to calm both your friends into letting their guard down and you were able to feel less like a heavy weight on their shoulders.

Classes were progressing seamlessly, and you relished every moment of it, learning new skills and enhancing old ones as you went along. Taehyung coincidentally happened to be in the same sculpting class as yours and this only nourished your friendship.

Scribbling onto the notepad you had in front of you, you squinted your eyes in an attempt to copy some of the notes the professor had written on the white board, sighing in frustration at having chosen a seat at the back of the room out of all days.

"Forgot your eyeglasses again?" Taehyung whispered, stealing a quick glance from the front to make sure he wasn't caught talking during the lecture.

"Yeah, and I chose to sit next to you here in the back not realizing I had forgotten them." you grumbled, implying like it was his fault.

Taehyung had to stifle a chuckle from your snarky remark. He knew you were just joking and the fact that you could make such quips gave him a peculiar sense of comfort. He yearned for you to embrace this facet of your personality more frequently, for the other side that was wounded and frightened often masked your authentic self. He simply stared in your direction, unable to control the way he felt. It was a bud that slowly started to grow within his heart. One that he feared would blossom into something else.

"Here," he presented, smacking his book down on your desk as you looked at him with bewilderment.

"Everything's there, just copy it onto yours." he added, reclining back against his seat as though he just did some grand gesture.

Your eyes couldn't have rolled farther into your head as you started to copy the notes, but the tiny curve of your lips betrayed you regardless.

"Alright students, can any of you identify this art piece?" the professor queried, clicking the button on the projector's remote before the picture came into view.

The art piece was a breathtaking sculpture of a fallen angel, depicted on one knee with its wings outstretched as if poised to take flight and challenge the heavens themselves. The intricate details were exquisite, with each feather on the angel's wings meticulously sculpted to perfection, and at its feet lay a shattered sword, a reminder of a hard-fought battle that had ultimately ended in defeat.
