Chapter 2"This is Karen." Mom said as she pulled out a very wide smile, then I found myself staring at the very beautiful girl right in front of me.
Karen.
Karen.
What an odd name. I told myself as I looked at her beautiful face, she should have been named Angel because she looks like one. Or Princess. Those names suit her more best to match her appearance.
"Hi." She said shyly as she handed out her hand to me. "Eris." I said as I took her hand.
"Eris, she is the daughter of my best friend Agnes. Remember her? The one who gave you the awesome Lego collection?" I smiled as I recalled such a wonderful gift.
I have always been fascinated with Legos.
And to know it's from her mom sounds great to me. "You know I picked that gift." She said with a proud smile on her lips.
"Really? Then you must like Legos too?" I asked as excitement coursed through my veins.
"Of course, want to go to our house sometime to see my collection?" She asked as she pushed her eye glasses close to her eyes.
"I wouldn't say no." I said as I beamed a smile.
"Really? Then you might not mind showing me yours?" She asked as she asked with eagerness.
"Race to the stairs!" I shouted as I ran for the front door.
"No fair!" I heard her shout.
"Eris!" My mom shouted.
But I didn't looked back or stopped. Then I heard Karen shrieked, this made me stop and turn to see what happened.
"Mom." I muttered as I saw her lying in a pool of blood. I saw the car that had caused it, and it was right in our backyard.
"Mom!" I shouted as I run for her. "Mom! Wake up!" I shouted as I shook her body.
"Eris." I heard Karen's meek voice.
"You!" I shouted to the man who was inside his car, I gently let go of my mom's dead body.
"Get the h*ll out of there!" I shouted as I felt anger eat up my whole system.
"Eris." Karen called my name once more.
But instead of stepping out of his car, the man hurriedly drove away from us.
"Hey! Stop the car!" I shouted as I dashed to chase after him. I want to strangle him with my own hands, I want to kill him.
"Eris!" Karen shouted as she pulled my arm, thus making me stop from running.
"Why did you stop me?!" I shouted.
She stared at me, wide eyed yet sad. "Let's call an ambulance."
"It's useless. My mom's dead." I said as I felt the sadness caused by the death of the person who understands me the most.
"We have to call the police, dad must know about this." I flatly stated.
She stiffly nodded as she followed me inside the house to make a phone call.
