Jacob has the ability to divine future, past, and present events based on extrasensory perception. He is clairvoyant, like Ken, being able to sense danger even as a child.
Telepathy and Psychic Projection
Jacob could reach into the minds of others, using his enemies' memories and fears against them. He could cast his consciousness beyond his body to explore the private lives of the townspeople of Hawkins, Indiana.
Mental Manipulation
Jacob can his enemies to hallucinate against their will; he could augment or replace their usual perception of reality with non-existent phenomena of his choosing.
Telekinesis and Pain Inducement
Jacob can control and manipulate solid matter with his mind. At first, this power was limited to lightweight objects, such as small animals, liquids and the hands of a clock, but through intense emotions like anger and fear, Jacob quickly grew powerful enough to influence fully grown adults and solid steel doors.

Born and raised in captivity, Jacob was trained to become a living weapon. He is trained in the use of long range weapons and explosives and is formidable hand-to-hand combatant, with intensive training in numerous armed and unarmed martial arts techniques, regularly trained in stick fighting with Jim Hopper. He is also highly educated, while seeing the world differently from an ordinary child and so far has displayed fluently in English, Portuguese, French or French Creole and a small amount of Japanese, while Martin Brenner once describes his intellect as being "off the charts".
