Perfectly Imperfect

Chapter one

"Okay guys I think that's enough for tonight" I told my band members (against the current)
"Yea let's call it a night" Dan agreed
"Agreed" will finished
I drove home. It was pretty late out so I figured mom and dad would already be asleep but when I opened the front door they were both sitting on the couch discussing something.
"Hey mom, hey dad" I kissed them on the cheek
I started to head up stairs when mom stopped me. "Uh-actually Alex we need to talk to you about something"
"Oh okay" I walked back down sitting beside them
"Okay so you know your fathers been working really hard lately for that promotion right?"
"Yes, i know" I nodded
"Well he got it" she continued
I screamed and jumped around "daddy I'm so proud of you, congratulations!" I noticed no one else was happy
"What's wrong? Isn't this good?" I furrowed my eyebrows
"Yes and were happy but there's one thing your not gonna be happy about" she took my hand
Uh oh...
"Your father got a higher job offer in California and were gonna have to move there"
"What!" I shrieked "we can't leave New Jersey, mom my band is here, my life is here!"
"Alex I can't pass this opportunity up" my dad tried to make me understand
"I know but can't I just stay here I'm almost 18 and I'm in my senior year"
"No Alex were gonna do this as a family" my mom put her hand on me but I took it back
"Ugh it's not fair!"
I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door. There making me leave my whole life behind. How are me and my band going to become famous now? Ugh and I forgot to ask when were leaving. I got up and opened my door enough to stick my head out.
"Uh I'm still mad but when are we leaving!" I yelled down stairs
"Three days so you have enough time to pack but were leaving on the last day at 12:00 so I guess technically two"
"Ugh!" I yelled before slamming my door back
I'll talk to my friends about this tomorrow but right now I just wanna sleep this off, if I'm lucky it'll all just be one big dream. I plugged my phone in and slipped under my covers and just like that I was out. I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off I hit it to make it stop but when that didn't work I threw it. I peeked open an eye and I had broke it. Ugh. I rolled out of bed and got my shower, after I did all my shower routine I got out with my towel and went into my closet. I pulled out a white shirt with holes in the shoulders and leggings then I slipped on my fuzzy tiger slippers. I blowed dried my hair then did my make up. I made sure I winged my eyeliner. I grabbed my phone and walked down stairs.
"Hey sweetie" my mom said
"Mom, Dad I'm going to school" I nodded grabbing my car keys and walking to my car.
Obviously I'm still mad, this sucks jelly beans. I pulled into the school parking lot. Nows the time to break the news. I found everyone hovered around Maddie's locker (my best friend)
"Hey guys" I gave a week smile
"Hey Alex" everyone commented back
"What is on your feet?" Dan asked looking down at my feet
"My tiger slippers" I furrowed my eyebrows Dan and will laughed
"Well I think there cute" Maddie said
"Thanks" I hugged her "but I really need to talk to you guys"
"What about" will asked
"Well- um- im" i started this was harder then I though it would be.
"Are you okay?" Maddie asked
"I'm moving" I spat out
"What!" They all yelled at once
"But what about our band?" Dan asked
"And our friendship?"
"I'm sorry guys but dad got a promotion and we have to move. I'm not happy about it either." I sighed
"Where are you moving?" Will asked
"California" I played with my figures
"So we can't even visit you?" Maddie asked starting to cry
"Maybe...idk" I hugged her
"Well when do you leave?" Will asked
"Well since my parents told me I only had three days yesterday I guess I have two days left" I sighed
"We can come over after school and help you pack" Maddie smiled
"Wait what if I had plans" will said then all three of us turned and glared at him "which I don't so it's totally fine" he smiled nervously.
I laughed and left for class. The rest of the day went fast which sucked since that meant it's getting closer to moving day. I got in my car and started driving home. I pulled up to my house just thinking. I can't believe they didn't tell me I mean can they even pack in two days. I opened the door and well I guess they can. There were boxes every where.
"Close your mouth, your gonna catch a fly" my mom laughed, me not even knowing it was opened
"How did you..." I trailed out
"Oh this?" She looked at all the boxes "we started this morning and we should finish tomorrow then all the furniture will be picked up by the movers"
"Wow" is all I said
"Now you need to pack your stuff"
"Oh my friends are coming over to help me" as I said that they pulled up.
"Hey Mrs.C" will said
"Hey will"
"Hey mom" Maddie said
"Hey mads"
"Hey big M" Dan said
"Big M?" Mom asked although we all looked confused
"Big momma" he gave a duh look
"Uh ok"
"Ok let's go" I started pushing everyone upstairs.
We went up there and got started right away. I looked at Dan and he was heading to my dresser.
"Dan what are you doing?"
"Helping you pack" he shrugged
"Yea will why don't you and will pack my music stuff and me and Maddie will pack my clothes. I don't want you near my underwear drawer" I chuckled
"Ok,ok"he laughed
After we were done and all my stuff was packed my room just seemed so, empty. Reality was finally kicking in. While we were all sitting in a circle in my bedroom floor I started to tear up.
"Awe Alex are you ok?" Maddie asked concern evident in her face
"I'm really gonna miss you guys" I sighed crying
"Were gonna miss you too" will said and we all did one big group hug
Everyone decided to sleep over so we could spend time together before I leave. I got my shower and we went to bed.
"Goodnight"I said
"Goodnight" everyone said in unison
I can't believe at twelve tomorrow were leaving for good....
