"𝐦𝐨𝐦,𝐝𝐚𝐝, 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬?"
you asked in excitement. "oh it's your birthday, right?" your mother replied, not giving you anything attention. "can we celebrate together..?"
"we're not spending money on something unnecessary." your father said while glaring at you. as you can tell- your 'parents' are toxic. not once have they gave you any attention nor have they shown any sign that they cared about you.
you rolled your eyes as you walked out the door.

a sigh escaped your lips as you watched the families having fun together. "[Y/N]!" a voice shouted from behind. turning around, you saw your bestfriend and childhood crush. "oh hey,seishu" you greeted him bluntly.
the male said nothing but instead hugged you- which caught you off guard. "happy birthday." the blonde mumbled.
"thanks..." that's one thing you and seishu had in common, both of you struggle to show emotion sometimes. kind of one of the reason's you get along so well. "c'mon." the blonde said, pulling away from the hug.
"where are we going?"
"you're spending your birthday with me." he said before dragging you away with him.

you went so many place with inui. he took you shopping, took you to his favorite restaurant to try new foods. he even bought matching necklaces. now, you two were at the top of a building; watching as the lights lit up the city.
"wow, that's beautiful! seishu, how'd you find this place?" you smiled. the blonde chuckled from behind, "this is where we met, remember?" he said as he wrapped his arms around your waist.
"oh yeah, i think it was your birthday and i gave you my dango as a gift." you recalled. the emerald eyed male paused for a moment befor saying, "speaking of birthday gifts, i never gave you yours." he muttered. "what is it?"
inui took a small box out of his pocket and turned you around so you would face him. "the reason i brought you here is because i wanted to tell you something."
"i'm listening."
"[Y/N]... i've loved you from the beginning, i don't know but i felt something towards you and i couldn't stop it, i loved the way you smile at me, the way you speak, everything about you." you remained silent. "if you don't love me back, it's fine, we can stay friends and pretend this never happened."
you took a minute to process everything he just said. as he was about to leave; thinking you would reject him, you immediately pulled his wrist back and in a swift motion, placed your lips on his.
"of course."
