The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital. I sat up as I slowly came to and saw Chad sitting in a chair next to me, his eyes looking exhausted and puffy. I tried to push that aside as I thought to myself: How long has it been? Where is Tyler?
"I've been waiting for you to wake up for two days. We've all been so worried. I have been taking care of Tyler too. He'll be excited that you're finally awake."
How did he know what I was thinking? Maybe my dream was true. I looked at him, motioning to continue since he clearly wanted to say something.
"Jess I don't know what to say. This was all my fault and I am so sorry. I'm supposed to put you above everything else and I failed you. I am so so sorry," He was tearing up.
I reached down to his hand and grabbed it tightly.
"You really don't have to put me above everything else. You're being so sweet Chad but we just met"
"I do though Jess. I'm your mate," he blurted out.
"My mate?", I repeated.
"Jess, there is no other way to say this, but I am a werewolf. Not just any werewolf though, I am the alpha of the New Moon pack. All werewolves have a soul mate that they are loyal to and love like no other. It is normally a werewolf, which is why I was so surprised to find out you are mine. I have been looking for my mate for so long and when you moved, I knew that you were finally here,"
I was speechless. So it's true. It is fine though because he didn't expect me to say anything as I drifted off into some more much-needed sleep.
