The Werewolf Beat Me Up in Center Hall

Chapter 2

"And this is where your locker is," Sarah says. Sarah and I walked through the whole school, and she showed me around and told me everything about everyone. It felt so good to actually have a friend at this place. Sarah and I had first period Science together, so after going to my locker we headed to the classroom just in time for the bell to ring.

When we got into the classroom, the teacher, Mr. Cummings, took attendance before assigning us to a lab partner.

"Sarah Williams and Brad Xaviers"

Sarah picks up her books and moves away from me and goes to sit next to this really good looking guy who I guess was Brad Xaviers. He had beautiful wavy black hair that came up just below his ears. He was very toned and tall, wearing a v neck and jeans. I couldn't stop staring into his chocolate brown eyes. Something in his eyes made him look angry and brooding. But he was brooding and beautiful. That's why I was confused that Sarah seemed so angry to be sitting next to him. I guess I would have to ask her later.

I guess I was in a trance for too long, because Mr. Cummings kept repeating my name. I finally paid attention long enough to hear,

"Jessica Smith and Chad Xaviers"

I looked around the classroom trying to distinguish who Chad Xaviers was. It didn't take too long, because at the opposite end of the classroom Chad gave me a head nod. As I walked over to his seat, I studied his appearance. He looked just like his twin brother, except he wore a varsity jacket, and in his brown eyes I saw happiness, hope, and mischief. There was something else there, but I couldn't put a finger on it. As I sat down at the table, he flashed me a swoon-worthy smile.

"Hey I'm Chad", he says in a deep voice.

"I'm Jessica, it's so good to meet you"

We exchanged some small talk before returning our focus back to Mr. Cummings. Every few minutes I would glance back at Chad when he wasn't looking. I was starting to really like this school, especially this class, and my lab partner.

After science class ended, my hunky lab partner left so Sarah and I went to our next classes. I was lucky, because Sarah was in most of my classes. We went to Spanish, Calculus, and History together before making our way to the cafeteria.

The cafeteria was really big and full of loud students, I avoided the rest of the students immediately and ran to the lunch line. Olde Town Road High prides itself on its delicious and nutritious food, and I intended to use that to my advantage, it's not like we eat anything good for dinner anyway. I ordered a chicken salad and water, I was starving. After paying, I looked around for Sarah. There were so many different cliques and crowded tables, that I couldn't find her. My eyes roamed the cafeteria until they landed on a certain individual. Chad. We made eye contact and I blushed real quickly before turning away, my stomach filled with butterflies. He was hanging out with his football friends, which I discovered was why he had that varsity jacket. I looked around some more until I saw Brad. That's strange, why isn't he sitting with his brother? Word around the school was that they didn't like each other, and I couldn't understand why. I fiercely loved my brother, something must have happened between them to cause this rift. I keep searching until I see Sarah waving me over, I grab my water and make my way to her table.
