Panic was an understatement,
Confused was an understatement.
Saying I love you to your friends was normal, maybe he was truly feeling sick. So Kier took some medicine and went to sleep.
Although he needed to clean up, a nap wouldn't hurt.
The nap hurt.
He woke up even more confused than earlier, cursing, he rubbed his eyes and occupied himself.
Dev on the other hand was giddy, smiling and being nicer than usual to customers. No it wasn't because of the I love you, it was because he felt like he was going somewhere.
He had finally gotten a raise at his other job and just wanted to be nicer.
Kier was cleaning, he had music on, singing to drown out the many thoughts that started to contaminate his mind.
When he finished he sighed, thought about the dream and wrote it out of his mind.
Dreams don't always need to have a meaning.
Walking to the refrigerator he pulled out a small pizza. Grabbing a big pan he sprayed it down with cooking spray and set it on there. Turning the oven on he let it preheat before setting it in there.
He plopped on the couch, taking the remote off the side table and turning on the tv.
Although the channels were limited he found a channel to play something. Laughing and carrying on he was pleased when the oven beeped.
Standing up he walked to the kitchen, grabbing oven mitts and pulling it out. He sat there for a minute or two and then put it on a plate and walked back to the couch.
Dev had arrived at his second job and sighed grabbing an apron and wrapping it around himself. "Aye Dev" someone said patting him on the back. "Hi boosfer, how are you." He said a little more blank then he wanted to.
Boosfer had put on his hat and started off where the other cook left off. "Table 6 is ready," he heard a yell. "How many people," he yelled back. "seven," the host said. "I got it," Dev walked out and took some silverware and menu's.
Smiling he introduced himself and talked to the people at the table, it was just a bunch of friends and he felt a little relieved. He smiled at everyone at the table and went to go see if another opened up.
Looping around he took a deep breath and walked to the seven person table. "What would you guys like today?" he smiled. "You," Someone had said, He laughed it off and went around the table. Ignoring the flirting from one of the girls.
He said a thank you and then walked away, he sighed as he got into the kitchen, taking a bag off the counter he went to the break room and sat and ate some food.
When he finished his break had ended and he got up, his mood lightened and he walked back up, groaning in his mind when the table was called.
He grabbed a big tray and started setting the food on it, walking out he walked to the table. He set it down on an empty one near by and asked each one their order.
Dev made some jokes while giving them their food, still keeping the attention of the girl, she seemed very infatuated. He denied any of her flirting.
Walking away he went to get their drinks and did so, leaving as fast as he could.
What about him seems so interesting? He had thought.
Sitting and sighing, he went back and washed his hands. As the rest of his shift progressed the table didn't leave until closing.
Going out and cleaning the table he realized they tipped him fifty dollars. Smiling he took it and walked to the back, sharing half of it with Boosfer.
He was his only friend there.
Kier was getting ready to sleep, he hadn't anticipated Dev to get home, he was lounging in only a hoodie and boxers, finishing the movie he had put on.
Then Dev walked in, not recognizing it,
rather ignoring it for his own sake. "We finished early today, how are you."
Again, Kier didn't like that question.
"I think I needed the day off," He smiled towards Dev. Dev turned and smiled back, plopping on the couch next to him.
He put one of his arms around Kier staring at the screen. Kier sat up a little more, not knowing how to feel about the close proximity.
"There's half a pizza in the oven if you want it, it's probably cold though." He commented. "Really? Thanks," Dev said, standing up.
Kier sighed.
Bringing the food back Dev sat back in the spot again, Kier tensed again. He forced himself to focus on the movie. Dev was surprised when Kiers head fell onto his chest, a little confused he stared down at him and something clicked.
It was like watching the moon shine as it rains. He didn't know what to do about this new feeling.
How do you tell someone about this?
