the chase begins

sandwich in hand i walk along the railing of a bridge. it probably wasnt the safest but hey it was fun. break my stride was playing in my earphones and i silently jammed to that taking bites off my dinner. 

'last night i had the strangest dream-' 

'oh no ive got to keep on moooooving aint nothing gonna break my stride-' 

the bridge had a fast moving river under it as the occasional car sped past i got a notification and saw it was an unknown phone and a video attached

3rd person pov 

nat and bucky leave for the mission walking around the city looking for a certain white haired girl. they walk around for a while with no leads. that was until a certain spider boy swung past them with a cheerio 

'shouldn't he be sleeping' bucky asks 

'yes, yes he should' nat goes to take out her phone to call him but bucky points to a figure dancing on a bridge white hair flowing in the wind. bucky tilts his head and whistles as a symbol to go up to the roof above them. nat nods and they climb up. 

it takes them a minute to come up with a plan but when they do they are certain it will work. using only a phone nat gets the mystery persons phone airdrop since it was to risky to give their number to this person and gives it to bucky. 

rolling over to record a dancing video of her bucky airdrops the video with a message

UKNOWN airdropped - attachment 1 video and 1 image 

stay where you are. and come with us willingly

i play the video first and instantly look around to where i thought they could have gotten the perspective but no one was there i continue to look in circles seeing nothing suspicious.  that is until i focus harder and see the top of someone's head on a roof. now it could be nothing but i dont wanna take my chances i jump down off the bridge and into the freezing water below. it wasn't that far of a drop only around 10 m i knew where it would take me so i knew it could work. 

nats pov

i watch as the kid jumps into the lake. jumping down the roof for some odd reason bucky decided to jump in the water as well. stupid. i ran along the path following the white under the water. the girl could hold her breath for a while. i slowed down to a jog as i followed the girl. we were coming out to a drain type thing where there was a grid to stop large things going to the other side. this would mean the kid was stuck. i saw barnes slowly catch up as he had to keep pushing his long hair out of his face in order to keep eye on the girl.

buckys pov

fuck this water was freezing. i felt like my arm was gonna freeze off. why did i do this. i continued to push my long hair out of my eyes trying to keep an eye on the fast moving teen. we were getting closer to the grid and then she would be stuck. i swam a bit faster and when i came up for air again the girl was no wear to be seen. i look over at nat who looks just as confused as me 

y/n pov 

nearing the grid i duck under the water with one final breath. to the left there was a pipe i swam down and into the pipe. it was dark so they couldnt have followed me more than a meter under the water i swim until my head breaks the surface. i was lucky this wasn't a sewage pipe it was just water from the river why the pipe was hear beats me. all i know was i was getting cold fast. i was trying to hold a flame but my hands were to wet and cold. i didnt think that would have stopped me but o well 

i make it to the other side off the pipe and pull myself out of the drain after lifting the man hole cover off lets just say my arms were in pain i wanted to lay down and sleep. suddenly there was a horn beeping and i realised i was in the middle of the road 

nats pov

we lost the kid. and bucky climbed out of the water to dry off. 'u idiot' i tell him looking around for the girl. she wouldnt be that hard to find because of the hair .

a manhole cover moved and it was suspicious as it was in a direct line from where we were standing. hands pop out than the familiar white hair began blowing in the cold night wind. suddenly a car sped towards them 

it all happened so fast, they honked at the girl stopping just infront of them. she looked dazed for a second before moving out of the way. and onto the path. closer to us i look at barnes and nod in her direction he nods. sneaking up behind her we let the girl walk for a bit until they near an alley.

buckys pov

nat was so bossy on missions. we follow the girl for a bit until there was a nearby alley. making it easy for us she ducks into said alley way. we strut into the alley to see her sat, already looking defeated. well this makes our job easy

oh for fucks sake. i really with i had enhanced healing at this point. when climbing out of the drain i ripped the scabs on my arms opening some wounds again. great just what i needed. i needed food i needed sleep. i needed someone. however i was excepting my fate it was freezing and i was drenched. i sat in the alley looking up at the stars. footsteps started coming down the alley and i looked at them in a panic. shit they found me. i get up but stumble over my shoelace, 

'we just want to talk kid' black widow says taking a step forward. i shake my head looking around. the winter soilder was blocking my other exit. i desperately looked around i didnt want to go with them i really didnt.
