Takemichi ran after Kisaki, the adrenaline made him forget of the bullet wound on his feet and the bullets in his torso after taking them for Izana.

They stood in the parking lot.  The same parking lot where Hinata died in an explosion.  Suddenly, he got a vision.  It was in this very same parking lot that Kisaki proposed to Hina, an engagement ring in his hand, with a smug look on his face.  As if he knew that she will accept his proposal. Hina, being in love with Takemichi obviously refused.  She turned around and walked away, not seeing the shattered look on his face before slowly morphing into a look of anger and hatred.

Takemichi thought for a second, staring at Kisaki who had a gun pointing at his face.  He ignored the gun and spoke softly.

"You loved her, didn't you?"

Kisaki's eyes widened. The gun trembled slightly in his hand.

"What on earth are you talking about?" He growled.

Takemichi nodded in understanding.  "I loved her too.  Hina is an amazing girl.  She made feel like I was worthy. Like I was important. Like I mattered."

Kisaki lowered the gun as he took in his "love rival's" words.

"Despite all my flaws, she stood by me and supported me.  Even though, I wasn't always there when she needed me." Takemichi whispered, his voice cracking as he realized what a terrible boyfriend he had been.

Kisaki resonated with this.  Hina was his first friend.  When everyone stayed away from him because they thought he was creepy or found his intelligence intimidating, Hina offered her hand in friendship.  He felt possessive of her.  His confidence grew because of her.  He found his self worth because of her.  She was his everything.  He loved her dearly.  But stupid Hanagaki Takemichi got in the way.  He took her away from him.

"Hina doesn't like me because I wanted to be the number one delinquent."

Kisaki's mentally cursing Takemichi came into a halt as he heard the words.

"She loved me because I'm not a coward." He stared right at him.

"What?!" He growled feeling offended at the implication, bringing the gun back up.

"I'm not strong like Mikey. I'm not smart like you. My only redeeming quality is my determination. I don't give up.  Even if I get hurt--" he took a step closer to Kisaki.  "--even if I die--" The gun touched Takemichi's forehead.  Kisaki's eyes widened.  "--I will always protect my friends. How about you? Have you done anything that Hina wanted? Have you risked your life for her?"

Kisaki was speechless.  Muttering and spluttering with his words.

"We're not so different, you know." Takemichi smiled softly.

Kisaki was stunned.  No one had ever looked at him like that.  Its the look of someone with so much understanding. Not even Hinata looked at him like that. She looked at him like a friend who would support you when you have problems even if they dont really understand it.  But Takemichi looked at him like he knew exactly what he was going through.  Despite him being a 14 year old, Takemichi's eyes says otherwise.  It was like he's been through a lot.  Like an old sage with so much wisdom.

Kisaki felt his eyes well up in tears.

"You--" Takemichi trailed off.  He was starting to feel the blood loss.  "--are not... a bad guy."

"You've been lonely." Takemichi stated as if it was a fact. "Haven't you?"

Kisaki choked, dropping the gun and falling on his knees.

Takemichi dropped in front of him and pulled him into a hug.  "If we had met sooner, you could've had one more friend, huh." He whispered.

He let Kisaki cry on his shoulder, rubbing soothing circles on his back.   "Let's be friends, o-ok?" Takemichi cursed himself mentally as he barely managed to finish his sentence.  He's not gonna last soon.  He's lost so much blood already.

"Takemitchy!" He heard a muffled shout but he didn't see who it was because he passed out.
