Aragorn follows Legolas back to the stables quietly still worried about the elf who was unusually quiet, not that Legolas was overly loud to begin with.

"Legolas" Aragorn says
"I'm fine" Legolas says automatically
"No you're not" Aragorn responds
"No I'm not but I just...I want to leave as soon as possible" Legolas responds
"Okay but if you want to talk about it then we can" Aragorn says

Legolas sighs softly as he debates going into it.

"The battle started in these forests. A group of dwarves sought passage through but were captured by spiders. Myself and Tauriel, my friend and captain of the guard at the time, found them and locked them in the dungeons. The guards on prison duty got drunk and they escaped. Tauriel raised our alarm but we were surprised to find orcs attacking them. My father sealed the gates to let no one in or out. I didn't agree but passed the order anyway but the guards informed me that she'd left. I went after her never intending to stay away from Eryn Lasgalen but I just listened to her talk about how it was our fight"
"And you believed her?" Aragorn says
"Yes. She was right. I still believe her. We helped the people of Laketown, taking on orcs and evacuation from Smaug. Before I found out that my father banished her" Legolas says trailing off

Aragorn noticed a look in his eyes. One that told Aragorn that Legolas was still upset about it

"We went to Gundabad together"
"Gundabad?"
"An old fortress. Orc Stronghold for as long as I remember" Legolas says his voice wavering a little "My mother died in Gundabad. My father does not speak of it. There is no grave, no memory, nothing"
"I'm sorry. We don't have to talk about the past all at once. But anytime you want to I'm happy to listen" Aragorn says softly
"Thank you. For listening I mean" Legolas says "I would prefer to go now. I don't want to linger too long and night is approaching"
"Of course. We'll go now. Set up camp on the borders of Lothlórien" Aragorn says with a nod
