The Steps of Pocky Day

Hello Minna!~ This is my first story EVER! I was a little nervous to post it, but I decided to see what others thought. Let me know if I need to make any changes ^^ I hope you all enjoy! I may continue to write more one-shots and eventually lead up to a chapter story if I'm confident enough.

It was a bright, warm, sunny morning. Lucy had just arrived at the guild and quickly sat down at the bar, waiting for Mira. She was wearing a black skirt, with a crop top that had the Fairy Tail insignia placed carefully in the middle of the shirt. Her hair was flowing freely down over her shoulders, the golden sunlight causing it to shine. Lucy rested her head on the dark, wooden counter, staring off into the distance, when a certain voice woke her up from her thoughts.

"Ohayo Lucy, shouldn't you be with Natsu?" Mira said, as she smiled sweetly at me.

Lucy gave her a look of confusement. "Why would I be with Natsu? Just because he is my partner, doesn't mean I have to be with him 24/7, unless Mira is..." she responded in a nervous tone, "What do you mean Mira?" fearing the matchmakers intentions.

A glint of happiness appeared in the takeover mage's eyes. "Well, it is pocky day! I figured you would be with him, since you do have feelings toward him!" She stated, as she wiggled her eyebrows.

"M-Mira!," Lucy screamed, as her face turned a deep, dark shade of red. My heart rate began to increase at a rapid pace. "Spend pocky day with Natsu? I-I can't do that! He is probably too dense to even figure out what Pocky Day is all about anyways." She was quickly snapped out of my thoughts when she felt a muscular arm rest on my shoulders and the smell of fire and ash fill the air.

"Yo Luce! What are you up to?" The dragonslayer said, as he smiled down at her red face. "Oi...why is your face so red Luce? Do you have a fever?"

He leaned in staring at her bright, red face, his nose almost touching hers. "Hmm..." Natsu hummed. He pressed his large, rough hand on her forehead and gazed into her eyes. "...Your weird Lucy," he said as he grinned down at her.

"I AM NOT WEIRD! Y-YOU'RE BEING WEIRD," Lucy screeched as she practically bolted out of the guild, heading straight to her house and not looking back.

"Ne Natsu, you should probably go check up on her," Mira spoke with a smirk, "but before you go, take this and share it with her."

Natsu reached his hand over the counter, grabbing the small box of Pocky that Mira had placed before him. He studied the cover, unsure of what this box contained. He gave her a look of confusion and said, "Pocky? What's that? Is it food?!" His eyes grew large with happiness.

Mira tried to hide her excitement and spoke in a calm voice, "Yup! It's Pocky Day! And what's better than celebrating it with Lucy? Now, on the back there are some instructions that I put on there. Make sure to follow them EXACTLY. Alright?"

Nodding, Natsu quickly thanked Mira and ran out the guild doors towards Lucy's house, not even caring what the instructions said. Meanwhile, Mira had fainted on the floor, behind the bar, due to freaking out about how her ship was going to come true.

Lucy's House

Lucy had quickly ran home, hoping to clear her mind and escape sudden embarrassment. "I felt like I was going to explode, what happened back there? I can't have feelings for Natsu... He is my nakama. My bestfriend. My teammate! Yet, why do I feel this way around him?" She sunk lower into the bathtub, closing her eyes. The steam filled the air around her, helping ease her nerves and aching mind. Suddenly, a loud crash was heard coming outside her door. Sitting up, she immediately wrapped the soft, white towel around her waist. Slowly walking over to the door that separated the bathroom and her bedroom, Lucy twisted the doorknob gently, peering out into her room. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, which was strange, since she heard a crash not too long ago, when suddenly...
