A/N: OK, SO IDK IF NANDO'S IS, LIKE A CASUAL RESTAURANT, LIKE, FAST FOOD, OR IF ITS REAL, WHERE THEY SIT YOU DOWN AND THERE'S A WAITER, ETC., BC I'VE NEVER BEEN BEFORE, SO JUST BARE WITH ME
______________________________________After Jay dropped us off, we went inside, hands intertwined. The hostess greeted us with a smile and said, "Hi, welcome to Nando's! Table for two?"
We nodded, and she led us through winding aisles between booths and tables, before stopping at a corner booth. She handed us our menus and told us that our waiter would be wirh us shortly, walking away with a cheery smile."Lou, what do you think we should get for an appetizer?" I looked up at him, intertwining our fingers across the table.
"Whatever you want, love." I giggled shyly.
"I was thinking garlic sticks?" He looked up at me and smiled, leanimg across the table to kiss me briefly.
"Sounds good. I was thinking, after this, we could go get some ice cream, and then head home so you can pack?" I hated living so far away. Why couldn't I live in the same place as my boyfriend? Everything would be so much easier.
"Yeah, I'd like that. Minus the packing part," I muttered the last bit, so he wouldn't hear it.
"How are you feeling about going on the X Factor?" He asked, resting his head on his hand.
"To be honest, I'm pretty ecxited, myself. I mean, performing in front of Simon fucking Cowell? That would be absolutely amazing..." (that hurt to write...)
"Yeah, I guess... but what if I mess it up? What if I'm not as good as you and my mum think I am?" I shook my head, frowning.
"Louis, stop. You have an amazing voice. You deserve to be there just as much as anyone else, if not more. Okay?" He smiled a little bit, rubbing his thumb on my knuckles.
"Thank you, Hazza. It means a lot."
"Of course, babe. Anytime. I love you." My eyes widened as I realized what I said. His jaw dropped, and he blushed furiously. Fuck, fuck, fuck, I fucked everything up, he's going to leave me, I'm not good enough for him, I'm moving to fast. Why would he want me? I'm a nobody. I should just end things with him before he breaks my heart. I decided to break up with him tonight, right before I go back home. Just get it over with, right?
Just then, the waitress walked up with a smile. "Hi, I'm Nicole, I'll be your server! Have you thought about what you want for appetizers and drinks?"
"Y-yeah," I stuttered. "Uhm, we'll take garlic sticks, and I'll have a water."
"I'll have a cherry lemonade," he said, looking down and fiddling with his fingers.
"Coming right up!" She walked away, towards the kitchen. An awkward silence hung in the air, and I went to open my mouth, but closed it in fear of saying the wrong thing again.
The whole dinner was uncomfortable and we barely talked. When it was over, we walked down the street to an ice cream shop and ordered, taking it outside. Louis called his mom to come pick us up, and we sat on a bench outside the shop. When I finished my ice cream, I leaned back, watching the cars speed by.
"So, uh," Louis hesitated. "I was thinking... ugh, nevermind." I turned to him and frowned.
"No, what's up?" I said softly, biting my lip nervously.
"No, uh, it's... it's not important." He smiled briefly, then looked back down. I sighed, fiddling with my fingers. I wanted to cuddle up to him, and kiss him, and tell him it would all be alright, and that he could talk to me. But I didn't want to make him uncomfortable. He reached his hand across the bench, stretching from the space left between us. He was just doing it to make me feel better, right? He was uncomfortable, he didn't want us to be together anymore, things were going to fast. It was all my fault.
