" Alex!!! Alex!!! Leave him " Carlo yelled, yanking me off that dickhead. Carlo tried to catch my attention by pushing me back and squeezing my shoulder.
" Alex!! Alex!! Listen, we have a problem. The south warehouse is on fire!!" I froze in my position as he screamed at me. The largest warehouse I possess in the city is the South Warehouse.
" What!" I was unsure whether or not I should believe my own hearing.
" I just got a call, the Fire Department called in to inform me. Some of our soldiers got third-degree burns and 4 deaths recorded till now" I sigh escaped his mouth. " We should quickly go there " I nodded in reply.
Running out of the building, Carlo closely follows behind. The whole ride none of us uttered a single word. But my mind was racing like crazy. The soldiers who got injured or who lost their life today are my brothers, a part of my family. I promise to protect them but I failed. Fucking Cartels (Mexican Mafia) will pay for it. The car came to a halt breaking my thought.
Stepping out of the car what I encountered was just a cataclysm. Smoke and fire everywhere. A bunch of fire trucks and ambulances were lined up. The fire brigade was doing their work and the Medical team was rescuing the people. None of them was in a condition to talk. I ran my fingers through my hair, trying not to lose my calm. Watching my people hurt for no fucking reason is just unbearable at the moment. I want to know what happened here. I turned around to find someone but no one. I stopped a firefighter to ask him but he just said that they got a call from an unknown number and the same reply I got from the medical team.
Running my hand through my hair, I knew who made a call. I-- " Alex!!!" Carlo called breaking the string of my contemplation. I turned to face him and he came running towards me.
Halting in front of me " I..It was a bomb blast that cause fire " he informed breathlessly from running in smoke. " A foolproof planned one. Fortunately, the control room is safe. We can retrieve the camera recording " He finished and I nodded.
" Do - " I open my mouth to speak but cut in between because his phone ranged. Taking my permission, he excused himself. Picking up the call he said " Hello"
" Cosa!!!?" He screamed in confusion, his eyes wide open.
"Stiamo arrivando ora!!" He said hanging up on the call. (We're on our way now)
" What!? " I questioned judging his pale complexion.
" Al..Alex" he shutters
" Fucking speak, Carlo!!!" I growled at him.
" Arthur's car got in an accident" He spoke out, making my world break down. My brain went numb and I can't hear anything else.
My knees got dead, making me lose my balance. Carlo held my forearm, bringing me back to reality. Looking into Carlo's concerned eyes, I knew that he was asking me to be strong but all I want now is to see Arthur in one piece, giving me his usual stupid grin. Yanking my arm from Carlo's grip, I ran towards the car. I need to go to Arthur. He needs me. halting in front of the car, I started searching for keys in my pockets but failed to find them.
" Where are the fucking keys !? " I growled in panic.
" Here, Move let me drive," He said stepping closer to the driving seat.
" I...I'll drive," I said snatching the keys from his hands which he shoved away.
" ALEX!!!" He screamed getting my attention " Get your shit together, he'll be fine. Arthur will be fine" he tried to calm me down. taking a deep breath, I nodded running towards the passenger seat.
I shut the door with a thud, and Carlo started the car, putting it on the road. I noticed I was sweating profusely as I rubbed my temples. I swiftly took off my blazer and undid my tie. Arthur is going to be OK. He'll be alright, I'm sure. I can't imagine living without him in my life. Laughing, fighting, sparring, eating, and sharing are all memories we have. He is my brother and guardian........my only family. Through thick and thin, he was always there for me. I can fathom a life with Aan, but I wouldn't last a day without Arthur. Aan...
I froze when the realization hit me hard.
" Carlo!! Aan and Jasmine were with Arthur "
"Aan!?.....Ca..Cassandra!!!!" He frowned and I nodded in reply.
" Fuck!!!!" He hissed under his breath, shifting the gear and increasing the speed.
We were at the city's main hall within 15 minutes. I sprang out of the car and dashed toward the site of the accident. My troops were tasked with concealing the location. I discovered the car was crushed like a paper ball beneath the truck. My heart rate increased when I assessed the vehicle's condition.
" Where is Arthur!? " I screamed getting no reply.
" Fucking answers me, where the fuck is Arthur, Aan, and Jasmine!? " I yelled making everyone tremble in fear.
" Capo, we took them to the hospital" one of them answered.
Taking my phone out I call Aiden(the Doctor friend) running towards the car, Carlo following me closely.
" Hello...Hello...Aiden...Arthur!!!..Where is he!!?.. How is he!!? ...Where are you.."
" Alex.."
" Fucking tell me, Aiden. Where is Arthur!? And Aan...is she okay...Aiden, I swear to Dio!! I'll kill everyone if something happens to Arthur " I growled.
" Alexander!!! " He yells to get my attention. " Arthur is fine and so is Aan "
" Really "I hushed. I can't express how badly I need to hear these words.
" I send them home. They are alright. Just go home. " He explained quietly.
My mouth dropped open with a long sigh. I slip down the road, hitting my back against the side of the car door. My hands gently make their way down from my hair to my face. I can't express how at ease I am right now. All I have to do is go home, and he'll be there waiting for me.
" Alex!! You alright!? " Carlo squatted in front of me. I nodded in response, and he handed me a water bottle.
I took a sip, noticing how scratchy my throat was from all the shouting. I gulped down a few more sips, easing every muscle in my body.
" Come on, Get up, I'll drop you home. " Carlo said patting my shoulder. I nodded getting up from the road with the only thing Aiden told me~
Arthur is fine and so is Aan
