Alina Perez always chased a good story.

Abandoned and orphaned at just days old, Alina was one of the original members of the Wayne-ran orphanage located in the outskirts of Gotham. And she was lucky, she knew that now. Alina was able to reap the benefits of the orphanage when Thomas and Martha's vision was still alive and well. Alina always admired the Wayne's, their family was so united, it's all she ever dreamed of and couldn't quite understand why life chose her not to. They were a picture perfect, story time ending family. She didn't know it then, but that desire for a happy ending is what led Alina to love stories.

Alina had friends though, she had great friends. One of them was the one and only, Bruce Wayne. At first, Alina thought Bruce just felt bad for her and the rest of the orphans. He was rich, he had a lovely family, maybe it was an obligation for him, Alina thought. But she eventually could tell he took after his mother's kindness, he always wanted the kids of the orphanage to feel at home, especially the ones his age. Bruce thought Alina was so cool, noticing her love for newspaper articles almost immediately. He'd bring her the week's latest issue every morning, and if he couldn't, it'd be Alfred who was bombarded by Bruce's innocent childlike insistence.

But one day, those deliveries just stopped. It was the day that Thomas and Martha Wayne were murdered. Alina didn't find out the day it happened, she didn't get the newspaper that day. She just remembers overhearing the staff of the orphanage in shambles, some in near tears. Next thing she knew, she was standing far off the sidelines at the Wayne's funeral.

Alina remembers that day clearly: her eyes caught Bruce's in a glance. His eyes weren't filled with innocence anymore, they were dark and in misery. She wanted to talk to her friend, but all he did was look down. Alina Perez never was able to speak to Bruce Wayne again.

Only days after the Wayne's memorial and the orphanage going through some major changes, Alina was adopted by a lovely couple: James and Bela Perez. It was sudden, almost as if it was planned. As records show, Alina was the last orphan adopted from the Wayne Foundation orphanage, before it all went to hell.

Alina's adopted parents were fairly well off: they were no Wayne's, but Alina couldn't complain. James and Bela treated her as their own, giving her the best education Gotham could offer. It's in these schools where she would casually run into old dear friend, Bruce. But the most they did was hold 10 second glances, Alina convincing herself that he doesn't remember her. She was just an orphan who regained parents, while he was a rich boy who was turned orphan. He wasn't the same anymore, and she couldn't necessarily blame him. So Alina let him go.

Bruce did remember her though. Her love for journalism only grew larger than life, and Bruce would read every school newspaper she produced as editor in chief. He heard about her graduating from college with a journalism career, and often would see her name printed in various newspaper and magazine articles. Alina had a passion for the truth, and that's exactly what Bruce needed. Even if it could get her in trouble.

Her passion for the truth is what led her Alina to be one of the infamous Batman's confidants. The Batman needed the names of the criminals he dealt with printed and seen, and in a cesspool of corruption in the City of Gotham, Alina Perez was the only one his inner child could trust.

It never went beyond that, as far as Alina knew, The Batman was a loner. Their only connection was that: business. But as an unhinged puzzler nicknamed The Riddler came to light in Gotham, Alina Perez and the Batman found themselves kindred in more ways than one.

- hey guess who is back... how could i NOT???? the batman is hands down one of the greatest CBM ever. robert killed it omg. im excited to bring this forward and i hope u are also! this summary is very much bland, i know!! but i promise it'll get better. bruce is still going to be the loner he was, and you'll notice that a lot of it is batman & alina, as the movie purposely showed us a lot more of bats. BUT you will see more bruce, cause i can and i love my emo boy! also, miss selina is not gonna be minimized here. she finally got a great live action plot and it'd suck to lose that. so im excited for this <3
