Koda hummed quietly to himself as he sat in the forest near the dorms. The light harmony drew all the animals near as they wished to listen more. A small smile blossomed on his face as all his animal friends gathered near and bathed in his presence. While he enjoyed the company of his classmates in the dorms, something about being alone in nature always seemed to make him feel better. As long as no insects went near him that is.

Holding out his finger, he waited for the birds to land on it. As they perched onto his hand, they sang along with his song. Peace was the only way to explain this moment, until a sudden noise interrupted them. "Ribbit."

Koda's eye widened at the new voice. To his knowledge no wild frogs lived in the area, and if they did, they wouldn't last long. The campus wasn't very water friendly, sure there was enough water for animals to drink but not enough for any to soak in it. Rushing to stand up, he begins to search under leaves to find the source of the sound. "Ribbit, ribbit." It croaked.

"I have to see you to help you." Koda whispered back. He could tell the poor little animal was distressed, but with its voice being so muffled there wasn't much he could do. Just as he was about to give up, something slippery jumped on his face.

"Ribbit!" Koda held back the urge to let out a shriek as he caught the frog. Taking a deep breath in, he holds the tiny animal in his palm. "Ribbit, ribbit ribbit. Ribbit ribbit ribbit, ribbit." The other animals stared at the two confused as Koda nods along to whatever the animal is saying.

Letting out a loud gasp, Koda's eyes widen in horror. "Your friend was flying to find you two somewhere safe to sleep for the night and he ended up getting injured and now he can't fly!" Koda repeats back to the frog.

"Ribbit!"

"Led me to him!" The gentle giant places the small animal on the ground. Quickly it began to hop away with Koda in tow.

--------------------

"Are you sure he is around here?" His voice came out unsurely as he looked at the trees. They were way too far apart for any bird to get stuck in between them. Even a goose would have some difficulty getting hurt in an area like this. Not hearing a response, Koda turned his attention back to where the frog was, only to find it empty. "Mr. Frog..?"

"Wasabi!" A small voice yelled.

Startled, Koda took a small leap back. A child's voice? But didn't the frog say his friend was flying? There was no way a child would be traveling with a frog alone. Slowly inching forward, he felt his heart rate begin to increase. Something didn't feel right. His hands shook as he peeled back the branches of the bush. A shriek got caught in his throat as he fell backwards. Scurrying back, he watched in horror as a set of antennas popped out from the green shrub. He sat petrified as the small creature stared back at him with a blank expression. Its black eyes blinked as the frog from earlier hopped onto its head. And that's all it took for Koda to pass out on the grass.
